  1. It does sound like a battery fault. Depending on your model year and option codes you might have two batteries, one to run the accessories and one dedicated to starting the vehicle so be sure to test them both if so equipped.
  2. Search the site for information on removing damaged drain plugs as it has been covered before. I suggest you purchase a new set of drain plugs before removing the old ones.
  3. 1- Recheck the brake fluid level in the master and be sure both chambers are full in the reservoir tank. The return system for the park brake pedal can weaken so be sure the pedal is fully against the upper stop. 2- Service Now is the maintenance reminder for oil change/filter service. 3- I don't know the spec for idle speed but my Cayenne ( V6 ) idles at 600 RPM so it sounds about right.
  4. 18-22" is a rule of thumb at my elevation. I often use a vacuum gauge to help find mechanical problems on engine but honestly I'm the only person I know who does so. Even though you are not getting O2 sensor faults I would try and sway the primary sensors side to side and see if the soot still appears on the same bank. It's easy enough to do and will eliminate a O2 sensor that might be biased towards a lean condition. I hope I'm being of some help and not leading you down the garden path.
  5. If you operate the window via the switch do they run at the same speed?
  6. I have seen the electronic throttle valves stick to such a degree that they have remained closed and cause the engine to flood because it could no longer draw in air. Be sure not only the throttle plate looks clean but also the bore.
  7. Interesting that I have only see this bolt get damaged by techs.
  8. Have someone drive the vehicle at highway speeds and at different RPM's while you monitor the O2 and camshaft data. Your vacuum reading seem ok just very steady which might just be the gauge. 18-22" of vacuum is the spec I've always used.
  9. If your vehicle does not have the air suspension option why would you think it might be a possible problem?
  10. Doesn't sound normal. Inspect the air filter housings - there are two of them - and be sure they are correctly installed and all connecting air pipes.
  11. This is a Touareg but the same bits. Sorry I could attach the PDF file. I can send it to your email address if you pass it along.
  12. Not a common fault at all. Does it worsen when filling the tank or if it's full? A fuel leak is nothing to ignore so I recommend taking it in and getting it sorted asap. The vapour is collected and a closed system but if there was a fault in this system you would have a check engine light which you don't mention.
  13. Everything looks is well within spec at idle but it's interesting how steady the vacuum readings are. My next step would be to monitor camshaft timing and O2 values with the engine under load on a road test. So you don't get bogus secondary O2 or cat convertor reading you'll need to get them up to temp and burn them clean. Drive the vehicle at highway speeds but at a higher RPM- 3500 to 4000 - for approx 20 KM. After this you'll need to check for fault code, clear any that are present and then carry on with the monitoring of the values.
  14. Any specs on the oil used. What type/amount/price?
  15. The front cowl drains are located behind the wheel well liner towards the rear. You need to remove just the rear bolts of the liner to access the drain. I just pull them out of the body, clean them, flush loads of water through the cowl and reinstall the drains.
  16. Over all I like it. Finally PDC sensors that don't stand out like ugly little warts but I don't like the black mirror stalks or the massive black covers in the driver/passengers footwell that I imagine are fuse block covers. The jury is still out on the bigger engine cover but I'll wait until I pic with the spoiler deployed. Thanks for the pics.
  17. Is it possible to post a pic of the damage? I have also seen the drain plug itself crack so examine it carefully or better yet replace it. Your local OPC should stock the item.
  18. I use the vacuum gauge to determine the engine sealing efficiency. A fluctuating gauge could indicate timing or valve/valve guide problem. Is it possible to post the secondary O2 sensor readings and the catalytic convertor temperatures?
  19. And the mechanical valve timing is correct? What does a vacuum gauge read when connected to intake manifold vacuum?
  20. Is it possible that the fuel pressure regulator is leaking past the diaphragm and the raw fuel drawn into the intake? I had something similar on a VW once..... just something to check.
  21. There are several electric motors that drive the blend doors for the climate control. I would suspect this is the noise you are hearing. If everything is operating correctly I would'nt worry about it but if not you need the porsche scan tool or durametric to look at fault codes.
  22. I'm not sure on your model year if you have a return-less fuel system or not but if you have a fuel pressure regulator at the engine, what side of the intake manifold does the vacuum line attach?
  23. I have also seen readings of less then 100% on cable operated systems but in the range of 90 some percent. Is the cable and associated components in good condition and set correctly? Although I think your reading is low it's not the cause of your lag, MAF would be my first suspect.
