  1. So it was the coolant temp sensor, good result.
  2. Be sure to check the fuses for the ignition coils also.

  7. I forgot to take in account sea level with regard to your vacuum readings so I'll assume that your 16" is fine.

  9. You want to remove the manual gearbox and install an automatic gearbox? I think it would be cheaper to purchase a vehicle with a auto box.
  10. You mean 16 inches of vacuum right? Why is it so low? I'd be happier to see 18+ inches. Have you checked for a vacuum leak or a exhaust restriction?
  11. I wish Porsche would just stick to numbering for model identification instead of these awful names.
  12. When it's hot and running poorly can you capture primary and secondary O2 sensor data. Not sure if this is the case with your DME but sometimes the secondary O2 data is used to aid in long term fuel trim calculations with some manufacturers.
  13. Have you inspected the steering shaft coupler assembly or front suspension strut upper bearing mounts?
  14. You can test the EVAP flow control solenoid, it should be closed under internal spring pressure and opened via DME. I have had them leak under vacuum on VW.
  15. Be sure the engine oil isn't contaminated by petrol. No blockages in the exhaust system.
  16. You can measure the difference between inlet and outlet temps. If the unit is working correctly you can expect to see approx a +50 C higher temp on the outlet. Keep in mind this spec is a rule of thumb and only to be taken after you have purged the convertor and gotten it up to temp.
  17. You'll need to do a little diagnostics. Test the fuel pump pressure and volume. Remove the air filters, look down the carb throttle and operate the accellerator to see if they are discharging fuel. Any vacuum leaks? With a vehicle of this age it's very common to find corroded fuel lines and tank. Has the fuel filter ever been replaced? A fuel leak of any type is serious let alone one on a air cooled engine. Never open the fuel system on a hot or even warm engine as the exhaust heat exchangers are famous for trapping raw fuel/oil and can ignite in a fraction of a second. Have a fire suppressor at hand.
  18. HAving replaced many of these pumps just a word of advice- buy OEM pumps, the aftermarket unit are rubbish.
  19. There is no real baseline to monitor as the convertor is so dependent on the health of other components. It either does it job or can't.
  20. How many miles/drive cycles do you have on the vehicle since all of this swapping of parts and such? Maybe it just needs a chance to relearn. Put 20 start/stop drive cycles on it without clearing any code or changing anything and monitor how it operates.
  21. 2005 V6 Cayenne. Outside temp -10C. Key on,engine off- IAT +36 C KOEO- IAT +28 C Engine RPM@3000- IAT +18 C MAF sensor is new and engine was at coolant temp of +85 C. Sorry I don't know what the conversion to F is.
  22. I've never used the Porsche Testers but you should be able to force the readiness statues which will test the O2 sensors and cat convertors. The convertors are monitored by the secondary O2 sensors but they also need to reach a certain temp, be able to hold that temp for a certain amount of time and have a oxygen reserve. Each vehicle has it's specific set of operating parameters and it takes some experience to interpret the results. What issues are you have that has brought about the question?
  23. I thought PCM 2.0 was CD based and 2.1 was DVD based?
