  1. My Cayenne has been very reliable. What milage did you get the vehicle at? Just an observation, my temp never passes the 180 mark.
  2. Very hard to say what happened without more data. Battery 4 months old can fail just the same as 4 year old battery so age isn't a indication of worth.
  3. Why do you think the Toyota unit would be better? Cause they never break or set a foot wrong?? I'm sure the compressor Porsche uses is a Japanese unit already.
  4. Even though the dealer did the service, check the invoice to see what they actually replaced.
  5. LED do fail and much more often then you think. I have replaced the LED using parts from a old damaged cluster.
  6. Oil Temp issue is something I have not heard of before but would suspect a wiring issue or poor connection at a junction block/plug. These type of faults are sometimes very difficult to pinpoint. Are you sure it's the transfer box and not the transmission thats engaging neutral? There should be no shudder at any revs and that could be a sign of a failing stepper motor. I believe there was a updated part issued for early models. Also the battery/charging system needs to be in perfect condition or these vehicles will exhibit all sorts of odd issues. Do you use a battery maintainer when the vehicle is not in use?
  7. Over the course of a fuel tank I average 19 UK MPG in the city using premium fuel and everything in proper working order. All tires set to 42 PSI. In perfect conditions on highway I can reach 26 MPG but average 22 MPG with wind/hills and such.
  8. Compression test when plugs removed and leak down test if you have the equipment. Do you know the maintenance history of the vehicle?
  9. If no suspension components are worn then the tracking must be out. I have almost 30,000 kms on my tires and not one issue with vibration or abnormal wear although I do rotate them front to rear approx every 15,000 km.
  10. I'd recommend taking the vehicle to the nearest OPC instead of the guess work way of throwing parts at a car until you guess the correct one.
  11. Pay the price and get a real proper Durametric cable and software. Well worth every penny and the company has great customer service if you have any questions.
  12. I would pull the spark plugs as a first step. Keep them in order according to cylinder location and they will tell you a lot about basic engine health.
  13. It's hard to say what caused the running problems. It's not recommended to keep disconnecting the battery for any reason but instead have the fault codes read out so we then know what system was faulting.
  14. Warranty will sort it. There were some issues with the high pressure pumps.
  15. Welcome. If you become a contributing member you can download the owners manual plus many other helpful items.
  16. Oddly enough I did this just yesterday and it is indeed an ATF fluid but a different fluid that is used in the transmission according to the info I had.
  17. Best inspect under the left seat for water as a control module resides there which can become damaged. Cleaning the cowl drain should be regular mantainence.
  18. Looks the part, thanks for posting. Out of curiosity, any idea what the wheels weigh without tire?
  19. If nothing has been altered you'll need to put the vehicle on Porsche scan tool but most common cause is failed batteries in the pressure units.
  20. There might be a fault code in the front control module, the computer thinks there is a problem so no longer activates the ground path for the circuit. Check for codes, clear any and check operation.
  21. What suspension mounts did they replace? The lower control arm big end bushings are the only ones I've seen wear. Do you have a parts description/number?
  22. That is the air quality sensor for the climate control. It fits onto the main plastic cowling cover near the brake master, the slides it engages are often damaged so I just plastic tie the sensor up out of the way so it doesn't get wet.
  23. On the pin and gently push it in/out with your finger to help free it up. It gets gummed up cause it's exposed to the elements.
  24. It's held on two ball sockets that need to be pulled straight out. Do not twist or pull the light at a great angle or you will break the tail light housing. One trick is to use an autobody air bag bladder between the light housing and body to pop the unit off the sockets.
  25. Try WD-40 to clean/lube the actuator pin and if that doesn't sort it then replace the unit.
