  1. After you replaced the control module did you use the bosch hammer or durametric software to recheck the codes if any?
  2. Could be loads of reasons. I would give it some time to break in before thrashing to see if it's slow. Maybe ask the guy who did the rebuild why it's slow?? Recheck the cam timing, if they are after market cam are they set to the makers spec or a Porsche spec.
  3. Durametric software is your best choice. No idea about the humming noise.
  4. Sounds like you have a failed sensor or wiring harness damage. Sensors do fail from time to time but I first look in the area of the accident for the problem.
  5. Enjoy the new car and be sure to post some pics. If you ever need a road trip you can pop down to Regina and show your new motor.
  6. Could it be possible that the mechanic who did the old repair caused this problem? Sounds like you have an issue with the dealer and not PCNA. Sorry to hear about your troubles.
  7. It's a straight forward job with the hardest part being fighting the years of rust trying to get the pedal assembly out of the car. No tricks that I know of just make sure you don't twist the throttle and clutch cables together during the install.
  8. I would very much doubt this is the source of your noise, any chance you could post a sound clip? A failing diode in the alternator can cause noise but I have never seen the decoupler fail.
  9. Sorry I can't help with your question as I don't have the wiring diagram in front of me but do you need DRL in SC? I thought it was a Canadian thing only.
  10. I agree with the coils as the problem. Just a FYI about the fuel cap, never open it with the engine running as you risk the chance of setting a EVAP code.
  11. Just wondering what mileage are on these units? Is the replacement pump an updated part?
  12. Check that the seal under the cap isn't missing or damaged.
  13. As RFM stated, I have not heard of this problem on the 986 only on the early 987 engines. I wouldn't fix what isn't broken.
  14. Sounds like you need your fuel sender recalibrated and never go by the OBC for miles remaining until empty as they often are an average and don't take in account the terrain.
  15. Well done on the new motor and welcome to the forum. Be sure to post some pics but sorry I can't help with your questions.
  16. I think the RMS issue has been mostly misdiagnosed from the start and the real cause in most of the cases is the intermediate shaft seal. Just my opinion.
  17. RFM is correct. I don't know of any tricks or resets for that system, I'm afraid a trip to the dealer is in order. Please post back with the results.
  18. Welcome and congrats on the new motor..... be sure to post pic when you can.
  19. Do you notice any fluid leaks?? If no then it could very well be stuff burning off the exhaust.
  20. A faulty mass air flow sensor could cause these problems and if I read your description correctly the ABS/PSM light is coming on which could also be caused from the MAF. It might be best to get the codes check and report back.
  21. Yes you have to release the tension on the belt.
  22. Well done then, thanks for posting back with the results.
  23. Hi p0rsch3, The measurement is slightly different of each model, it to assess if the mount is collapsed. Sorry but the manual is at work and I'll post the info asap.
  24. The ignition coil could be intermittent, a TBS was released regarding this issue and an updated part produced to correct the problem.
