  1. Donate to the forum and you can read all of the TSB's for your vehicle.
  2. Kinda of an odd question. I would guess that the key fob would be damaged beyond repair. You could always try and let me know if I'm a good guesser or not.....
  3. So is the engine actually cranking over but won't flash up?
  4. What does the voltage gauge say when all of this happening? Does your Cayenne have a second battery?
  5. What software version are you using?
  6. TSB= Technical Service Bulletin A TSB was issued in regards to this matter, you have to check with a Porsche dealer.
  7. Rodents will chew on anything, I don't think just Porsche has this problem as I've seen damaged wiring on almost every make of vehicle over the years.
  8. Interesting photo, any ideas as to what caused this failure?
  9. Just a note about the head lamps, check the wiring for the motor as it can get caught in the operating mechanism.
  10. Do a search and you'll find loads of info about these filters.
  11. Been ages since I've seen a cluster in a 964 but if I think it's the oil level gauge. Check the oil level when the oil is up to temp, vehicle level, engine idling and use the dip stick in the engine compartment as the level gauge might not be accurate.
  12. The mount in question is the main engine mount located in the centre of the vehicle near the serpentine belt, it's been updated to a 987 part number.
  13. Sorry I can't help with the noise but if I had a dealer or tech tell me that a noise isn't serious 'cause it's intermittent I would find a new garage to deal with.
  14. I have never had any good results in cleaning mass air flow sensors, I would just replace the unit.
  15. There is a micro siwthc in the latch assembly and it sound like it's on it's way out. I always replace all three micro switches when I have the door apart for these problems.
  16. Yep it sounds normal to me.
  17. It's normal to have a vacuum present with the engine running at the dipstick tube/oil fill cap, if the AOS has failed you often have decreased vacuum at these areas. Could be many other places you have a vacuum leak causing the problem.
  18. Where are you located?
  19. Could be almost anything, get the codes read and post them. We to narrow it down a little.
  20. No idea what bolt you took out but it should go back in without a problem. Looks like a taxi ride is in your future.
  21. Thanks very much Loren, much shaper and easier to read.
  22. Get a second or even third opinion.... the price seems very excessive.
  23. Low oil pressure(red warning light) and the automatic oil level(amber scale that counts down) are two different things. Don't operate the engine if the red warning comes on with the engine running. It's normal for a bulb check when the key is turned on for oil pressure and the oil level will operate every time the ignition is turned on. Have a closer read through the manual would be my first step.
  24. It does point to the alternator as the problem, are you missing any cowling covers on the spoiler that could be causing rain to flood the alternator? How many miles/age on the serpentine belt?
  25. I've seen a few times were the wiring near the backrest hinge is routed incorrectly and rubs through onto the seat frame causing odd electrical issues. Just something to check.
