  1. Disconnect the battery again for a few minutes but after you connect it again just turn the ignition key to the on position for one minute before you start her up.
  2. Please do a search as this topic has been covered many times. It's difficult to say if you can do it yourself as I've no idea how good of a wrench you are.... I think the job is very easy and have done such repairs on a drive way without using a jack to lift the transaxle.
  3. Sounds like the pressure plate has failed. Search and you should find loads of info on this site.
  4. Sorry I've never heard of this problem... looks like it's back to the dealer and take one of the techs out with you on the test drive.
  5. The Cayenne has a left and right fuel pump located internally in the fuel tank.
  6. Post the air bag codes when you get them, could be many reasons for it to be light up. I don't think the '97s had a rear window defogger, maybe the switch is being used for some aftermarket feature. Oh welcome to the forum and enjoy your new ride!
  7. It could be one of the fuel pumps starting to fail. The '03/04's had a few electrical problems but they seem fine after that.
  8. Are you saying that these bolts are loose? If so, you need to get your vehicle aligned and these things sorted out.
  9. Can you take a pic from the top of the engine? It's very hard to tell from the pic where the oil is coming from or even what type it is.
  10. Best check the impeller on the water pump as they have been known to fail.
  11. A failing battery can exhibit all sorts of odd problems, it never hurts to check the basic things first.
  12. The ramps is most likely the cause of the over fill. It's hard to say how over full it is right now. You can remove the oil filter canister and drain out a few hundreds of a ml and recheck the level. It's best to let the engine sit for a few hours to cool before checking the level.
  13. It can take ages to flush the cooling system. Have you noticed any drops in the levels of coolant/oil??
  14. The problem is the starter, replace it or have it rebuilt, I have never seen this problem cause a no start situation just the noise. As to the oil in the intercoolers, it's normal to find some oil in them but how much is too much is another question. Are you constantly added oil and have no signs of an external leak?
  15. The most common fault is the ignition switch, try turning the key slightly to see if the problem corrects itself.
  16. Does the radio lose it's memory for station presets? It could be that your loosing the ground path when something else is running. Are there no independant gagares in your area that could look at it? It's amazing that you could put up with this fault for four years.
  17. Also check for battery acid corrosion at the battery tray with can damage the engine ECU which is located behind the glove box.
  18. Glad you have it sorted and thanks for posting back.
  19. I wouldn't worry about it. The gunk seems to stick to the intake and never comes loose without some help. It won't affect mixture.
  20. If one was loose it's wise to check them all. Be sure to fit the socket deep into the bolt as the drive is easy to strip.
  21. I have never driven a tip at night but have seen the wheel apart and don't remember seeing any lights in there.
  22. Welcome and enjoy the new motor.... so how long have you worked for GMG? LoL.
  23. Check that the retaining nuts are tight on the spindles for the wiper arms.
  24. Make sure when you change out the bulbs that the contacts are all clean and the light assemblies lock back into the fenders.
  25. I wouldn't worry about it. I have pulled apart transaxles and found the cone shaped caps from oil containers inside. Most of them have still been in one piece well a few have gone through the gears but all of them ended up in the differential side of the case. I don't think they caused any damage and the transaxles were pulled apart for many reasons... mostly to repair worn synchros.
