  1. AOS have a high failure rate so it could be the problem. How many miles on the spark plugs? The ignition coils have been known to crack and cause misfires at cold starts... it often smells like fuel when that happens, does the engine run rough at cold starts? Have you had any check engine lights or codes?
  2. There is a test you can do for infrared sensors using a cel phone camera. If the sensor is working is will show up as a bright white/blue light when viewed on the cel phone. I know it works on IR remotes and such. The camera has to directly straight on the eye of the sensor to see it. Hope this is of some help.
  3. Be careful with the silicone spray, too much and it gets drawn into the engine and burnt in combustion which can contaminate the O2 sensors. It's safer to just lube the O-ring with motor oil.
  4. Did you use a battery maintainer while it was in storage? As RFM states, we need to check the code and a simple clearing of the codes and a reset could solve all the problems.
  5. If the fan motor is on it's way out there is nothing you can do but replace the unit.
  6. Welcome. Sorry I can't answer your question about mileage but the Cayenne is a massive, heavy unit so expect it to be poor.
  7. I don't think the third rad will lower temps. It will slightly increase the amount of coolant in the system but it will still heat to whatever temp it's reaching... just take a little long to reach it maybe and less time to lose that heat once you get moving again. I really wouldn't worry about it all.
  8. Doesn't look safe to me... seems like it could tip left or right and slip off the jack pad.
  9. I also agree on the 518... works very well.
  10. Replace the socket and that should sort things out. You can also check the electrical socket in the fender for any damage.
  11. There must be a bulb out. Compare left to right and see which one is missing.
  12. The casting/freeze plugs in the cylinder are in the coolant passage.
  13. I think there is a mirco switch located in the latch assembly to activate the light.
  14. No other fuse block that I know of, the retaining clip that holds the electrical connector in the fender that engages with the headlamp assembly can break and cause a poor contact.
  15. There have been a few cases of a freeze plug falling out in the camshaft area and oil coolers failing.
  16. I didn't realize you could change the spoiler settings. Just wondering what got changed around.
  17. Interesting. I just went to buy this kit from two different dealers and got the same story. They both stated it was illegal to sell this kit in Canada.
  18. Porsche will not sell you the deactivation kit for the child seat in Canada.
  19. I did suggest a few pages back that you check the diode ripple generated by the alternator and connections. I had something similar happen on a jaguar.
  20. Some of the '99s had engine failures due to a slipped cylinder liner.
  21. If it's still under warranty then of course the dealer should sort it out. I had some luck in the past curing squeaky brakes by making several hard stops from a higher speed.... was told this heats up the pads quickly and deglaze them, might be a load of BS but it did work.
  22. Have a look at the water pump.
  23. How many miles on the vehicle? It's very hard to say what the noise is but it could be a wheel brng starting to fail. Does it sound rotational with wheel speed or more engine RPM related?
  24. Even though it is still buzzing it might not be working correctly, as Loren said it's best to replace it and also clean the throttle body plate. I assume basic things are in good order like the air filter element.
  25. If the battery test fine then you need to check the ground paths and also the starter draw after it has been heat soaked.
