  1. becker cdr 210 serial number wso23333. Thanks very much.
  2. Well here in Canada the xenon lights are activated.
  3. Runtime?? Is it maybe Daytime Running Lights?? DRL's keep your headlamps lit all the time the vehicle is running.
  4. I think you have a problem in the valve train also. I would remove the valve cover for inspection. Does the noise go away off idle?
  5. Just another thought as you mentioned bringing it out of storage... maybe inspect the wiring for rodent damage causing a ground path and excessive current draw.
  6. I would replace the damaged joint, the threads could be damage but it could have hidden faults like stretched threads which could break under loading.
  7. I have seen coils damaged like this before but I believe it was from a faulty spark plug and never happened within minutes of replacement.
  8. Interesting question would be... what do you enjoy about the Porsche...maybe...just maybe...the performance? Otherwise, I agree with Geo Metro comment. Performance is of course part of the package but I still don't care how fast is my car is or isn't or if my dad could beat up your dad.
  9. I own Porsche because I enjoy them and never care about what others think. I also don't understand post asking what others think about a certain style of wheel or spoiler... it's your car, do as you wish with it. Just enjoy the vehicle and play safe out there, keep the racing for the track.
  10. Changing the chains is very involved and requires loads of work. Tapping at cold start is often the lifters and really nothing to worry about unless the noise worsens.
  11. The description for removing the water pump I have says nothing about removing the engine and calls for 3.6 hours of labour which is far and away less then removing the engine unit. Looks like you need to remove loads of bits but none of it appears difficult. Any chance of a second opinion from a different garage?
  12. That would be true IF your gauge reading of 1 bar was accurate. However, it is not even close. :D And what makes you think it's not accurate?? The specs I found for this engine are 5 bar@5000 RPM with a oil temp of 90C. I think you might be trying to fix something that isn't broken.
  13. I'll never understand these type of questions and why it matters what car is faster then the other. No I don't think it's normal.
  14. I wouldn't even consider this vehicle. Search for a 911 that has been maintained as this one will most likely nickel and dime you to the poor house.
  15. Nothing wrong with 1 bar at idle. 0w40 is Porsche recommended weight.
  16. Is that an intake valve? Many things can cause deposits including using poor quality oil and driving styles. Any idea how many miles on this engine??
  17. Every dealership I have ever had dealings with has been rubbish.. Porsche seems to be on par with the rest of 'em.
  18. I now have the correct tool to remove these clamps but have used the needle nose type of vise-grips in the past. Best of luck as they can be a real bugger to shift.
  19. If the fan motor is making noise it's best to replace it. As for the other problem it sounds like you may have a leak in the refrigeration system.
  20. One of the parts stores near me rents a tool out the fit over the length on the tie rod and clip onto the correct sized socket. I have uses a similar tool with good success.
  21. I will echo the comments about rechecking the coil connections.
  22. I don't think MOST was used in the Boxster until model year 2003.
  23. You should be able to find loads of used seat motors at the breakers yard.
  24. The ignition coils have a very high failure rate and I believe the part has been updated.
  25. I've also seen a very dark-purplish colour leak from the mounts.
