  1. Is the noise affected by road speed, temperature or loaded by turning the steering wheel when traveling at speed?
  2. Is it on the Porsche approved list? What ACEA rating does it meet?
  3. Batteries have a group size relating to their physical size, mounting tab/tabs,top post or side post and post location, etc. There is no way to upgrade to a ATO style fuse block that I know of. You can put dielectric grease on the fuse tips and re-tension the fuse tabs also. Best of luck with it all and let us know how it turns out.
  4. I'm worried about this "electrical smell" you mention. Re-check the fuses using a test light. The fuse array in the older P-cars is famous for looking fine but not conducting current due to corrosion at the fuse tips. With the ignition key on test for power at both ends of the fuse, if you have power at one end but not the other the fuse is open or a poor connection. As for the battery, you should be more concerned about the group size. The correct group size will have somewhere around 650 CCA. Be sure the battery cables are sound and no poor connections at that end.
  5. I haven't had the pleasure of changing these lights yet but I'll look through the manual and post anything if I find it.
  6. No air bleed that I know of. Cayennes bleed easily by themselves. Just check the level after a few days of driving.
  7. These noises are often very difficult to track down. I start by checking all the seals of any type of damage and then wiping them down with silicone spray. The silicone will take a few days to swell the seals but I have had good success with it. With the top up and at speed, if you open a window slightly does the noise stop??
  8. It sounds like the pipes under the intake manifold. The coolant gathers between the "V" of the cylinders and takes awhile before it starts to show on the ground unless you have a massive failure of the coolant pipes.
  9. Inspect the exhaust heat sheilds.
  10. Inspect the drain for the air box for blockage and the condition of the cabin filter. It sound like you may have excessive moisture collecting in the climate control air plenum. I believe the fan will only come on once the coolant temp has reached a determine level.
  11. What is the state of battery charge? What circuit had the blown fuse? What was the original fault with the starter that caused it's replacement?
  12. Each time you heat the stud it changes it temper and it becomes brittle and you risk causing more damage or other problems. If you find an experienced welder or mill wright, he should have no problems removing the broken pieces.
  13. Have the vehicle towed to a shop that can use weld to shrink the remainder of the stud while some of it is still sticking out of the cylinder head. It's an old trick where you MIG or Stick weld a nut onto the broken stud and as it cools it shrinks the stud slightly and then they turn right out.
  14. I'm not sure what brackets you're referring to. There is complete kit to install when replacing the coolant pipes that includes several pipes, plastic lines and a few bolts. Do a search on here and you'll find a thread complete with pics that should answer all your questions. It's a straight foreword job, just take your time and you shouldn't have any problems.
  15. It's not ambient air temp but coolant temp that is important.
  16. In the link it states that the pics came from a Cayenne with 2X,XXX miles but was operating fine. The pics do look bad but is the build up really causing a problem? I have seen VW TDI engines with EGR's and intake blocked 80% due to build up from using the incorrect engine oil and maybe this is the case here. I think there is more to this story and I'll wait for more data to get the measure of things.
  17. "Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost-Sunset Imports" at the top of the page would be the best place that I know of. I don't change the thermostat when install the update kit.
  18. Sorry I wish I could help but that information is not available to me.
  19. Have the brakes inspected, if the brake pad is at it's min. point you should have a warning displayed in the instrument cluster. Sharp steering angles can cause the tires to skip due to the front differential which is normal but it should do it regardless of a left or right turn. Start with the basic and check the tire pressures and P/S fluid level. I think the tire PSI is 39 Front and 44 Rear but check the information decal just to be sure.
  20. You don't have to remove the mount from the body if your just replacing spark plugs or coils.
  21. I think the size as well as the min. thickness is stamped on the rotor hat which you can see through the rim spokes.
  22. I don't believe the Turbos came with a spare but instead had the liquid sealant and a attachment hose for the air compressor to inflate the tire.
  23. It doesn't sound normal. Contact your dealer as the system should hold it's position/level and not constantly readjusting.
  24. Sorry I don't have the diagrams at hand but aren't you covered under warranty?
  25. Good result then. Thanks for getting back to us.
