  1. Possible to get a used unit from a breakers yard? How did you disconnect the PSM booster pump as I thought only one pump was used for both the ABS and PSM systems. I would still flush the system as maybe debris is causing a problem with a solenoid valve.
  2. There are companies that rebuild these axles and take your old axles as a core value, some of them have a life time warranty. Mevotech and Cardone are just two that I have used in the past.
  3. LOL.... it's almost as bad as the Boxster I seen with a pea soup green interior but it had about four different shades of the colour and everything was green. It was awful and the owner custom ordered it that way... cost him thousands.
  4. Inspect the front suspension joints and bushings as they can cause the steering pull and have the alignment verified. I've never mucked about with the pano roof but have read about the drain tubes coming adrift so slim chance that maybe that noise is from them. Welcome to the forum.
  5. Pentosin 202 is the replacement for 11.S. I'm not familiar with that VW number.
  6. Any check engine light? How much cleaner did you use for cleaning? It might take awhile to completely burn through the engine. Were you careful when opening the throttle bodies for cleaning? I had one example were a customer cleaned the throttle body and held the plate open with a plastic dowel and managed to damage the throttle plate. Try disconnecting the battery again for a few minutes,re-attach the cable and then leave the ignition key on for one minute, shut key off then start engine. Leave the MAF sensor connected and never disconnect electrical components while the key is on or engine running.
  7. Nothing wrong with 0W weight oils. A massive problem is all the old wives tales about oil and there are more opinions about engine oil then religion. I always recommend the OEM.
  8. Rack boots are just inboard of the outer tie rod ends. They are a flexible, black rubber bellows that protects the machined surface of the steering rack. All oil is flammable but a greater concern about the P/S fluid is how quickly it ruins plastic and rubber hoses even with the smallest amount of leakage.
  9. I agree with the other comments.... never seen anything like that on a p-car before. Are they metal? Check them with a magnet just out of curiosity.
  10. Typical sound of the window regulator. An easy DIY if you're even slightly handy. Loads of posts on the subject.
  11. That is way over the top. Not my cup of tea at all.
  12. The system has a reservoir tank that the compressor fills and the pressure is directed through a valve block to whatever strut is in need. The compressor should not be running all the time unless you or the suspension are making changes in ride height. Is there another dealer in your area you could visit?
  13. If the fluid level is low it must be going somewhere. The steering rack boots can fill over time so check those first. Keep an eye on the level over the next few months to understand the rate of usage.
  14. Try and also have someone hold the brake pedal. I have only used a 24" breaker bar to remove this without any sort of pipe.
  15. The leak is from the head light washer and every winter we see this fault. It always leaks from the left side in the cold weather.
  16. If it was a speed sensor you would get a code for whatever sensor was affected. Any ideas what faults codes were recovered?
  17. No they will not work. The Cayenne has two sumps(V8's) that need to be drained and you'll never reach them using an extractor.
  18. Not a bad idea to remove the spark plugs as well and add some oil to the cylinders before turning it over.
  19. You're going to need the Porsche tester or Durametric software to determine if and how frequent a misfire is being recorded. I DME can record a misfire that you can't feel especially at higher RPM's. Any idea what the MAF reading is at wide open throttle?
  20. The coils do have a high failure rate but I wouldn't replace them unless a problem occurs. I would only use OEM parts and think Bosch makes both the coils and spark plugs. Have the water pump and coolant pipes under the intake manifold inspected. They are both known issues can leave you stranded on the side of the road. The driveshaft centre brng is also a cause for concern and must be replaced as a complete assembly with the driveshaft aka a carden shaft.
  21. Perhaps my definition of a shudder and low idle are more severe then the norm.
  22. These noise are difficult to trace down over the net. It could be something as simple as a tire or a wheel brng. I doubt if the differential fluid is at fault.
  23. The Catalytic Convertor can easily be damaged from a misfiring engine regardless of milage.
  24. To become a member click on the "Donate" button near the top left of the page. Then you can search all TSB's for all models.
  25. I don't think a low idle and shudder is normal. I have driven many Cayennes and have not had this problem.
