  1. Unplug all connectors for the cluster and abs unit, the simple act of resetting the plug might cure your problem but I think you'll need to replace the abs control module in th elong run.
  2. Find another glass shop. This isn't rocket science, just a matter of removing the glass from the frame, cleaning it correctly and re-bonding it. I think my friend got his done including tinting for $100 bucks.
  3. Excessive current over time can cause internal resistance which you can't see but can only measure. As these vehicles age we are starting to see more problems with the positive and grounding circuits.
  4. PMG fail often, the problem is most techs don't know how to correctly test the sensor. As for not setting a code, the reason is the parameters just were not met. If the sensor doesn't go open circuit the DME will often see no fault but if the sensor has low output it won't be enough of a signal for the DME to use and result in a no start condition.
  5. Have you checked the residual fuel pressure? You might have a failing fuel pressure regulator. I had one that was intermittent controlling pressure on a Volvo that caused me no end of agro. I highly doubt it would be the injectors.
  6. I have seen the pulley seize and need replacement but never slip. I would change the cables as my first move as you can't always see the fault in them.
  7. I thought the coolant pipes under the intake manifold was something like 8hrs of labour??
  8. I'm in the same boat as yourself and have emailed several Porsche dealers with no reply to any of my questions. If one them happens to come through I'll post any replies.
  9. You might have a failing ABS control module but you need to check for codes in all modules and post them please.
  10. They will buzz but it shouldn't be loud. I would remove the unit and clean it along with the throttle body. Be sure to have the ignition key removed when performing any work like this.
  11. Water pumps also have a high failure rate.
  12. Maybe the fuel tank vent solenoid?

  14. Welcome to the forum. Sorry your first post has to be such bad news but as JFP stated it sounds like IMS has let go. Hopefully warranty will cover it all.
  15. Also have your laptop connected to the A/C power supply. Sometimes the CPU slows down when running off battery power and the data transfer rate falls out when trying to communicate with some modules.
  16. Are you knowledgable with these engines? There are many factors to consider and the timing must be spot on or massive damage will result.
  17. I would get a second opinion. If this solenoid is at fault can't it be changed instead of a complete transaxle??
  18. I would double check that you connected everything back up. How many miles have you driven since the battery has been disconnected?
  19. Soak the gasket in hot water to make it pliable and fit it over the emblem before putting it onto the vehicle.
  20. Good result. Recommend using Loctite 242 or 262 on new bolts to pervent this from happening again. Be sure any oil/grease is removed from the thread area.
  21. The '03 used a relay to active the DRL's if your car is wired for it. It wasn't until 2005 the you had to program the front control module to active the lights. Have a universal DRL module installed as it's easy and cheap, Canadian Tire sells them.
  22. Search the site as this subject has been covered in the past.
  23. Does the shift indicator in the instrument cluster look normal.... no flashing lights?? I would have it checked for codes and then the fluid level. Also inspect the drive axles for damages. They sometimes fail internally and you can't tell until the rear wheels are unloaded.
  24. The speed sensors can go open circuit when hot or if the internal magnet is damaged the heat can cause it to expand which results in a weak AC signal which the DME can't use to pulse the injectors or ignition systems. I should note that cold solder connections in relays/modules can also cause a no start condition but you need to rule out the speed sensors. I hope this makes sense and is of some help.
  25. Idle speed motor will cause an Idle fault not a no start condition. I would have the engine speed sensors tested when the stall occurs.
