  1. Drain and fill plug for the differential are located on the right side of the unit.
  2. Is the belt part number 7DK2950? I think you might have the wrong belt.
  3. What the manual stats to remove and what you actually need to remove are two different things. I like to take off the least amount of parts as possible to do a job and seem to be able to remove things others can't. A perfect example is the park brake switch on the Boxster- others remove the centre console to replace the switch and replace it without removing the console. I use a long 24" 1/4 inch drive with a thin walled universal socket to reach the retaining bolts on the engine trays. Best of luck.
  4. The brakes on the 928 are very good as is the shifter. It could be a neglected vehicle and the repair/maintenance of the 928 is out of this world. I'm not familiar with current prices anymore but would think you could pick up a very clean example for that price not a fixer upper.
  5. Welcome to the forum. You need the porsche system tester to accurately diagnose the TPMS and chances are the pressure sensors are dead or missing completely. Before replacing anything with the air bag system, have the connections cleaned with a quality electrical contact cleaner, reset the codes and monitor. Sorry but I have never heard of any faults like you're having with the ignition key.
  6. First thing I would do is clean the throttle body. As for the ABS issues, be sure the tires are correct in size and properly inflated. If the wheel speed sensors are weak, dirty or have the incorrect air gap they can cause your issues. Have the ABS system checked for fault codes.
  7. I don't why you think you need to remove the engine to remove these panel. They are held in place using 6mm bolts on a 10mm socket head. Just remove the bolts and then the panels.
  8. I have removed those panels without touching the engine.
  9. Are you referring to the lower and side engine covers? They can easily be removed with the engine in place.
  10. I believe your dealer is correct. The module is part of the fan assembly but check with Sunset Part for the newest part number and verify that information.
  11. Check the out put of the crankshaft engine speed sensor when hot at high RPM using a lab scope or if they are original unit just replace them.
  12. There have been some issues with the coolant temp sensor and the fan speed control module.
  13. Does your Cayenne have two batteries and if so which one did you replace?
  14. I have only seen two lights. Be sure all warning lights are working. I can't remember but does your vehicle have the exclamation light that is also a push button?
  15. Perhaps a better choice would be finding a complete used transmission? I would have them remove the pan and inspect for any swarf to try and judge the condition of the gear box.
  16. Air quality sensor measure pollutants. Inspect the cabin filter and the operation of the recirculation door.
  17. I don't know of anyone wanting to do what you have planned. It looks as though you'll be breaking new ground and have to let others in on the details and pit falls. Best of luck but i don't think you fully understand how the traction control system operates on the Cayenne.
  18. I also agree the common fault is the AOS. If your mechanic is charging you two hours to manually open the top, find another garage.
  19. Durametric also sells the cable for older models to use with their software.
  20. Carden shaft has been used to describe a drive shaft in Europe lingo since I can remember. Porsche isn't the only maker to use this term.
  21. What did they say was wrong with the accumulator? You can buy a compressor overhaul kit from VW and if you search the forum the replacement procedure has been covered including part number needed.
  22. You need to have the drains checked for blockages and that the climate control box drain pipe hasn't come off.
  23. What JFP in PA said. Got it in one.
  24. Sorry I can't answer your questions but have the coolant pipes been inspected for any restrictions? Perhaps the metal pipe work has been damaged in some way.
