  1. Do you notice this in auto mode?
  2. I thought the iPhone used a different dock cable then the iPods?
  3. It should be fine, that cap is to protect the joint and won't interfere with the operation of the unit.
  4. Result! Thanks for getting back to us.
  5. It might have hidden damage. Recommend having it inspected considering you ran over a massive rock.
  6. Site has a wonderful search function...... just saying.
  7. Does this only happen at low road speed while turning? At higher steering angles the differentials can cause the wheels to skip which is normal.
  8. I believe your OPC can test the speaker that is located in the instrument cluster using the output functions on the PIWIS.
  9. Did driving the car clear the warning light?
  10. The pressure accumulator can also fail and cause a lack of pedal assist.
  11. They should not idle rough. One fix to a very common problem was upgrading the engine mounts to the turbo mounts.
  12. What is the state of charge in the battery? They can become discharged very quickly in just a matter of minutes.
  13. Why would you want to "upgrade" the control solenoids?
  14. I asked a local shop here that repairs electrical motors and such and they said it couldn't be done. Maybe you'll have better luck.
  15. Alt and A/C are driven by the same belt with a tensioner device. Inspect all drive pulleys and the tensioner for range of motion and smoothness. I have seen the retaining bolts for the A/C compressor become loose over time and cause issues such as belt misalignment so be sure all bolts are correctly torqued. I believe the P/S pump is driven from a V belt in your model if memory serves.
  16. Pumps are located the fuel tank. Left pump being the main pump and the right pump is operated under certain conditions determined by the DME such as the first 30 seconds of engine start up and high load situations. The left pump module also houses the fuel filter.
  17. The rear drive shaft or carden shaft is a two piece unit supported by a bearing assembly, the grease seal on the brng came become dry and cause a rotational squeak/chirp noise.
  18. Only use the OEM pumps. I have also installed aftermarket pumps and had some with problems straight out of the box. Some coolant weeping from the pump is considered normal as the mechanical seal uses coolant as lubrication and does not indicate a failed unit. Sometimes the basics are overlooked and I always start with them. Have the common faults been investigated such as the coolant tank leaking into the trunk area or the correct operation of the cooling fans?
  19. Inspect the drive shaft centre brng assembly. Spray it with WD-40 and see if the noise goes away.
  20. hi! I have a 2004 V6, recently its has been hard to start, the starter runsfor like 5-10 seconds, then its usually starts and runs normally, sometimes itjust dies right away. It happened rarely the past couple of weeks, but now it'salmost every if not every time I try to start it. Also the air suspension faultmessage comes up, but that might not have anything to do with this. Can this be linked to a bad battery? How do I check if I have a cayennewith two batteries? All help greatly appreciated, Porsche workshop prices in Norway arequite extreme! :( You need to test the fuel pressure. The Cayenne has two fuel pumps with the left pump being the main unit.
  21. Water pump is driven by the timing belt which I suggest you also inspect and replace if time/mileage is unknown.
  22. Also inspect the slip pulley on the alternator.
  23. An easy mistake to make... glad you have it sorted.
  24. Is your 993 a RWD or Allwheel drive?
  25. If the check engine light was flashing do not drive the vehicle, have it towed to the repair station. Hopefully it's a easy fix like a coil pack.
