  1. Test the fuel pumps( both of them) for pressure and volume. There is also an updated coolant temp sensor for your engine but a failure in that circuit triggers a check engine light. Do you have any codes in the system?
  2. Inspect the lower control arm bushings also.
  3. I would have to say this is due to abuse. Don't you have some recourse from the seller as you haven't even driven the vehicle yet. I have seen a clutch on a VW distoryed in one day as the customer was driving around town using only third gear. It was his first manual vehicle and thought it only had reverse and the one forward gear.
  4. Inspect the water pump also as they do fail. I remove the serpentine belt and check the pump brng for movement and roughness/noise while turning it and appling load to the pulley.
  5. Hi wvicary, I have looked through all TSBs but found nothing. Which one do you refer to? thanks in advance (2009 CT) There are no TSB's for battery drains that I know of for your model year, they only applied to older models. What issues are you having??
  6. TSB's are not recalls so you'll have to pay.
  7. Are you sure it's engine oil? Best to have the dealer or a good indy garage remove the lower panels and locate the source.
  8. You have a four channel system and can bleed the brakes in a normal way. To my knowledge it doesn't much matter if you have ABD or not.
  9. Compressed air?
  10. You can't locate a battery drain on these vehicles by pulling fuses. You need to have the key removed, all doors/hood/tailgate closed and the drivers and passengers door latches tripped. Leave the vehicle untouched for a minuim of 25 minutes to allow it to hibernate and then without touching any doors handle and such you measure the voltage drop across the fuses with a good quality DVOM. There are also a few TSB's that address drains and the hardware/software updates to correct the issues. What year is your Cayenne?
  11. That transmission is made by the Japanese company Aisin.
  12. As RFM stated, it's normal operation of the transmission.
  13. The labour rate seems excessive. The first thing to inspect is the fuel cap seals and replace the cap if suspect. I never fault trace codes unless they return after being cleared and a smoke tester is the best tool for checking for leaks in the EVAP system. It's best to just clear the code and play a waiting game to see if it returns.
  14. At minium you have an accumunlator fault. I would replace it first and reassess the clutch operation.
  15. No idea what the noise is but have you checked the fluid levels and basic things such as tire pressures?
  16. Oil pressure will vary on many factors. As long as the engine sounds ok and no other oil related warning lights are on there is nothing to worry about.
  17. P/S fluid doesn't evaporate but coolant does. Have you checked all fluid levels? I would suspect you have leaking coolant pipes under the intake manifold. The "V" between the cylinders can hold a lot of fluid and the leak appears to come and go as the level as collected coolant spills out and then refills.
  18. Sorry but I'm having laptop problems so couldn't do the test. Hopefully someone will come along shortly and be of more help then I was.
  19. What is the milage? I drove a 2008 V6 with 42,000 miles and it didn't make any noises. What part of the vehicle do you think the noise is coming from? Front/Rear?Middle?
  20. Just wanted to advise you not to operate the vehicle if the check engine light is flashing.
  21. I think I have for the air pump but can't remember for certain. I'll try it tomorrow and report back.
  22. Glad you got it sorted and thanks for getting back to us with the result.
  23. Sounds like you have a failed brush in the regulator which can explain the intermittent charging. It's an easy DIY and be sure to use a battery charger to fully charge the battery and not let your new alternator try and do the job.
  24. A bogus fault code for a camshaft deviation or timing faults can be caused from secondary ignition misfires. As Loren stated - we need to know what fault codes are in the system.
  25. It sounds like to have added too much oil. I always start with 8 L and once the engine is fully warm and the oil circulating through the front oil cooler I check the level via the dipstick with the engine at idle. I often ignore the dash level gauge. When overfilled the oil can be drawn through the upper oil tank breather hose into the intake manifold and take forever to completely burn off.
