  1. Are you using recommended or quality motor oil? As you ahve already tested the pressure with a manual gauge and it is above spec, I would then replace the sender unit as it might be failing causing a false warning to occur.
  2. That is the tongue weight of the hitch. If you have the factory hitch it can tow 7,700 lbs braked.
  3. Cheers.... Thanks for all the information.
  4. Can you hear the drivers door lock trying to operate when this occurs or is it silent then suddenly works on the fourth try? Does it always unlock when using the key?
  5. Is this the same tank of fuel it was stored with or fresh petrol? If you clear the codes do any of them return? It's safe to drive so long as the check engine light is not flashing and the engine sounds ok but this problem must be addressed asap.
  6. Are you using the recommended octane rating? Fuel consumption is all relative to the usage of the right pedal.....
  7. Welcome to the forum and thanks for supporting the site. There are loads of helpful people on here and be sure to post some pics of your P-car.
  8. The air pumps move a massive amount of air. If the combi valve isn't opening then you won't have flow through the system. Install a vacuum gauge inline with the combi valve to verify the control solenoid and vacuum source to the valve.
  9. Only change the torque convertor seal if it's leaking, it's a massive undertaking to replace.
  10. How do you know that the Toyota fluid is compatible with the Porsche transmission? I have never heard of this before.
  11. The option sticker should also be located under the panel that covers the spare tire in the upper left corner.
  12. I use a flexible automotive scope with a LCD display and put the camera at the rear of the intake manifold to view the pipes. I have never had any luck looking with a mirror and light.
  13. I think it's plug and play. When you push the CD button on the PCM it selects the changer if no disk is in the PCM. If a disk is in the PCM I think you have to push the CD button twice to select the changer. I hope this is correct as I'm just going by memory from reading something ages ago.
  14. Oil is leaking onto the heat exchanger that provide heat for the climate control. The valve cover gaskets are a very common source of leakage on this model. I would get this repaired asap.
  15. I'm very surprised it has a 996 part number. I thought the 993 used a different generation of air bags then the 996. What was your old part number on the control module and how did you determine the ECU was at fault?
  16. Glad it's sorted. I think TB cleaning should be done as part of regular maintenance.
  17. Just wanted to point out that the after market hitches are not rated as high in weight capacity that the factory hitches.
  18. I mention the TB as they are easy to clean and I have had that solve some hard starting/ poor cold idle / drivability problems. I have never seen a cayenne pump give the symptons you describe, I have had them work properly or not at all in the Cayenne, not saying it couldn't be at fault. Also a low reading MAF sensor can cause simliar issues.
  19. It wouldn't hurt to check the fuel pressure but I can't remember the spec. i would first start by cleaning the throttle bodies and check for engine codes. Do you know the service history of the vehicle?
  20. I've had a very good result using the paintless dent removal guys.
  21. The three red LED's should light up during a bulb check function( in the rocker switch) then go out if no fault is present. If it's a communication fault being triggered it can set a check engine light. You really need the correct scan tool to sort this out. Be sure the battery and charging system are up to par as they can cause many odd issues in a cayenne.
  22. I have the same set and they have stood up well. A plus is that they are warrantied for life.
  23. I agree with your garage. I have cleaned many MAF sensors and it was temporary at best so I recommend just replacing the unit.
  24. You need to verify the operation of the cooling fans. Search the site as the details have been covered before.
  25. It all depends on the price. I think these are overall good vehicles but timing belt/water pump maintenance, front suspension parts and clutch work is very expensive on this model. Have you even driven the vehicle to see if you're keen on it?
