  1. Sorry - nope. I don't have parts that were removed - apparently Porsche wants them back for warranty claims. If there is one (and I'm going on the tech's diagnosis, which seems to have worked - just tried starting it after it sat for 4 hours - started right up :) ) I suspect it's internal to the plastic housing. Can't see how the housing might be disassembled - but I guess with a big enough hammer anything is possible. Have you had that flange/filter apart? I've had the filter housing apart once on a Cayenne and a few times on the Touaregs but for some reason don't remember any type of valve. Glad you got it sorted though.
  2. Well done fella..... what options does it have?
  3. It could be a valve body fault.
  4. I think that blower is used to assist the flow through the heat exchangers at low engine RPM.
  5. Any chance you could post a pic of this filter check valve? I can't seem to recall one being in the filter housing.
  6. I think the lurch/jerk when selecting first at a stand still is normal as my cayenne does it and do many of the tips I have driven. As to the other issues it's best to have the fault codes read out instead of guessing what it might or might not be. The transmission shift logic is also adaptive so it might be just used to your driving style.
  7. Check the mounts for excessive movement and separation. Can you better describe the noise and what makes it occur?
  8. The switches do have a high failure rate. Part is cheap to replace.
  9. Could you post a pic? I can't seem to picture what you're looking at.
  10. He states the noise is coming from the rear of the vehicle.... engine is stored up in the front bit.
  11. basic part number is 955 331 077 10 but it might be VIN number dependent or updated so check with your local OPC for details.
  12. I seem to remember a TSB about the weld breaking on the exhaust tips causing a noise.
  13. Looks like damaged caused by their heavy hands..... go back to the dealer and put them up against the wall.
  14. I agree that the bulb is on it's way out. Replace it asap before it damages the expensive ballast unit.
  15. As a precaution I would install the factory recommend amperage fuse.
  16. I have seen road debris damage components before.... rare but it does happen. A customer once towed his vehicle in when it suddenly started making an loud rotational noise. After inspecting the vehicle I pulled a push rod ( that's used in a old V8 engine ) out of the outer C/V boot. It was bent to hell and back and how managed to stay put and not get ejected out was beyond me.
  17. The force required will be different for each cylinder. The tool used to remove the coils is not needed but does work very well but I have used angled needle nose plier as a lever on the bottom of the coil to GENTLY lift the coils out. Be sure to used compressed air to clean the spark plug area before and after you remove the spark plug and I use dielectric grease on the area where the coil seals against the cylinder head and where it engages the spark plug to aid in future removal. Have your torque wrench handy to install the new plugs, sorry I don't remember the spec.
  18. Could you please provide more information as to the model and year.
  19. I would change out the head light switch. They do fail and it's a component common to both lights. May I ask why you changed the fuse from 7.5 A to 25 Amp?
  20. Depending on engine temperature, the transmission can start in first gear and hold higher shift points to aid in bringing the catalytic convertors up to temp in an attempt to reduce emissions. When the engine is at operating temp does it still start in first gear??
  21. Odd... my local VW dealer stocks various sized pins as I've bought from them several times over the years. Sometimes it just takes the right parts person to find the solution. But it sounds like you have it sorted.
  22. I don't understand. You say you can hear the motor but nothing moves then go on to say the wipers work so long as it's not raining. So.... if you turn on the wipers when it's raining do the wiper blades sweep across the windscreen?? The wipers will not operate if the front hood is open. The wipers actually work when it is not raining, however, when it rains, then just stop. I have also tried unplugging the sensor from the windshield. I plugged in my Durametric and it gave me the following error code 0 Module failed to initialize. It says that there may be a wiring problem to my computer, however every other diagnostic report works. So, the wipers work when it's not raining, which is not all that handy, as you can imagine.
  23. You can hear the motor but is it actually operating? I assume the wiper arm spindles are in good condition and the retaining nuts for the wiper arms tight.
