  1. It's law up here to have DTRL. On HID equipped vehicles it operates them at full intensity as the nature of the bulb only allows it to be on or off. I had them turned on with my Cayenne but since the inspection have them off.
  2. Check all the accessories not just the alternator. I would suspect you also have an airlock in the cooling system. There is an air bleed on the upper radiator hose but you also need to verify the operation of the cooling fans.
  3. You need to have the fault code read out for the ABS system. I think you have an intermittent wheel speed sensor but without fault codes it's all guess work.
  4. It's engine oil. You need to properly clean the engine to determine the source of the leak.
  5. You might need to clear the fault codes and calibrate the system. Do you have access to the Porsche tester or Durametric?
  6. Been ages since I did one of these so I hope my memory is correct. If it's just the cable you need to remove the speedo- which just pulls straight out of the dash- and remove the broken cable. There is a angle drive at the rear of the transaxle that you need to inspect for damage and be sure all of the old cable is removed. If all looks well just install the new cable from the speedo side first making sure it installs smoothly with no binding and engages the angle drive correctly. reinstall the speedo and test drive. The odd time the cable housing gets damaged which inturn breaks the cable so if you feel any resistance or binding while installing the new cable you'll need to inspect the housing. The angle drive can also fail.
  7. They are anit-rattle clips for the brake pad and if you need to you could operate the vehicle without them.
  8. Yes it's a Aisin built unit, sorry I don't know the model number.
  9. I just use a old thick blanket to cover the seats with I can was from time to time.
  10. There is also a serial number on the engine block that will give you details. i can't remember where it is on the 944 but I think it's located on the left rear of the bell housing near the access window for the timing marks. I'll try and verify the locating tomorrow.
  11. 1- If it's a single cam engine then it's the 2.7 L, the 3.0 L has a twin cam engine which is very wide when compared to the single cam. 2- The balance shaft belt can break which cause excessive vibrations as does collapsed engine mounts. 3- Inspect the heat shields around the exhaust system.
  12. Item number 1 in Lorens pic is a crankcase breather valve. The EVAP control valve is located at the rear of the intake manifold and is part number 955 605 517 00. The fault code P0441 is for a EVAP fault which is often a fault in the control valve not the breather valve.
  13. I'm confused also.... are you looking for the EVAP control solenoid or the crankcase breather assembly?
  14. I have not heard of this problem before. The sunroof is controlled by a module and the only thing that comes to mind is a problem with the main switch, one of the limit switches or perhaps even moisture in the main switch from a blocked drain. Sorry I can't be of more help but I would check for water damage first.
  15. It could also be a fault with the mechanical portion of the key tumbler. When you insert the key it engages a small rod that pushes on the electrical part of the ignition switch which turns on that circuit for the gauge cluster and radio. You can test this by removing the ignition switch from the steering lock assembly but leaving it plugged in electrically, if the system operates as designed then the fault lies within the lock assembly, if the fault stills occurs then chances are it's in the cluster or a very remote chance in the alarm/lock module.
  16. Though you put on 122 miles, how many brake applications were in that milage? I would give them more time to break in.
  17. Double check the electrical connection to the coil pack.
  18. I would have the alignment done but not for that kind of money. Find a local garage that can do the work for a fraction of the cost.
  19. It sounds like the you need to replace the mirror glass with the retaining assembly that then clips onto the power mirror motor. Over time the heater grid can cause the mirror to de-laminate from the glass. The part number varies greatly depending on your VIN number.
  20. Yes the valve cover has to be removed. This is the oil control valve for the actuation of the timing chain that links the exhaust and intake camshafts. Any chance you could post the fault codes? The odd time a cylinder misfire will set a camshaft deviation code.
  21. I have heard this before and I'm afraid it's does sound like a failing cylinder/piston. Return the vehicle asap.
  22. I would first clear the fault code and only address the issue if it returns.
  23. Is the serpentine belt in good condition and have you checked the fluid level? It takes a special fluid by Pentosin 11.S or the newer stuff is Pentosin 202. Be sure to not spill any as it's nasty stuff.
