  1. Search the forum as it has been covered before. One post has detailed pics/instructions.
  2. You can also get odd false code if the battery voltage gets low. Best course of action is to clear the codes in all control modules, drive the vehicle for adaption and address any code that return which might not be any. Durametric will clear the codes in question and I highly recommend the product.
  3. Does the fault lessen if the gearbox is hot? A short shifter will increase the effort needed to engage a gear.
  4. The website is odd. It states that it will only work on PCM 2.0 and 2.1 but not the PCM 3.0 which I think is what the are showing in their pics. I wonder if you need to have the telephone module active for this to work?
  5. I don't like it at all and could care less if others recognize my vehicle or what they think of it but each to their own and just my two cents.
  6. You need to have the fault codes checked and also the operation of the brake light switch. What part of the country are you located?
  7. It could also be a fault with the door card switch.
  8. I have the V6 and according to the PCM my best average on a 800km trip was 25.5 mpg @ 100kph. But that is also using the bigger gallon.
  9. You are trying to fix something that is not a problem. 11 degrees F is nothing to be concerned about and there are always slight variances in sensor readings. If you had a 20 degree difference I would be worried. If the fans are working correctly and the engine isn't purging coolant then consider this normal operation of your vehicle but still monitor things for the long run.
  10. I think it might be located in the centre console area near where it meets the dash.
  11. No check engine light and if the problems doesn't occur again I wouldn't worry about it.
  12. Sorry but my memory is failing. I looked through the TSB's and couldn't find one relating to your roof just something about wind noise from the door area. RFM is a member here and he has fantastic knowledge on the Cayenne. I suggest sending him a message and hopefully you can find some answers. Apologizes for sending you down the garden path.
  13. That could very well be the fault you've been chasing. I would replace the affected sensor.
  14. Do you have access to a voltage meter? You need to test the voltage during cranking at the starter solenoid. It's the smaller wire you need to measure with it still connected to the starter. The rule of thumb is approx 10 volts during cranking.
  15. I have heard that these style roofs are an endless source of noise. I personally have never worked on one but I believe there is a TSB your OPC can refer to and address the noise issue.
  16. I think this is one of those "too good to be true" deals. Install a K&N style air filter and you'll get an extra 25HP and an extra 10% increase in fuel milage above what you're getting now.
  17. All this replacing of parts to find the problem is the wrong way to go about repairing your vehicle. If it's not cranking you need to follow the path of power through the circuit and be familiar with the components in play. I highly recommend taking it into qualified garage or OPC as in the long run it's the cheaper route to follow. If this is not an option I would check the operation of the multi function switch on the transaxle and then testing at the starter unit.
  18. It's ready to go right out of the box, no need for a after market cooler.
  19. Looks like coolant and there are multiple places it could be leaking from. I would check the level and get it sorted asap. Be sure to clean up the drips as it poison to pets.
  20. How loaded with the Cayenne be? If it's mostly empty I would pull the boat and just be easy on things.
  21. How do you know it's blowing off freon? If it's the high side pressure relief valve venting it makes one hell of a bang when it purges accompanied with a massive cloud of freon.
  22. You can check the resistance of each sensor but as the spec will change due to temperature just look for major differences (greater then 5%) between each wheel speed sensor. Also be sure each speed sensor is fully seated into the wheel hub and that there isn't a damaged trigger wheel or a build up metal on the tip of the sensors. The odd time the electrical connector for the sensor can be at fault and just the act of unplugging it and plugging it in again is enough to clean the contact and secure the connection.
