  1. Then I don't understand what you say by it hit the engine or you can't get it out of the slot. It fits into a round hole and after remove the one retaining bolt the sensor just pulls straight up and out.
  2. Are you trying to remove the sensor holder assembly or just the sensor?
  3. You really need to drive the clappers off it and get the complete exhaust system up to temp and burn off the old oil.
  4. The wipers are unique to the Cayenne and after trying one universal set I recommend staying with OEM.
  5. Yes replace the bulb asap. A failing bulb can damage the main ballast unit. I think the bulb is a DS1.
  6. Can you list the components replaced to date? I would also inspect the crankshaft for movement to rule out a worn thrust brng. Does it make this noise whilst in any gear with any wheel speed or does it increase with wheel speed or engine RPM? I would also drain the transaxle and inspect the oil for swarf.
  7. Do you have Bi-Xenon headlights? If it's standard Halogen lighting then the low beam is the higher bulb in the main reflector which I believe is a 55W H7. There are diagrams/instructions in the owners manual.
  8. It sounds like your nav disc are out of date that is why you can't load the street or find the detailed info. I have PCM 2.1 DVD in my cayenne and don't think it's cost effective to update and use a TomTom device instead.
  9. Are you sure it's coolant in the oil and not just normal condensation from the combustion process?
  10. No play in my steering. A common source of excessive movement and some noise is the rear lower control arm bushings. Odd FedEx would leave a package without a signature. That is how they work up here where I live.
  11. Do you have the operational manual for the navigation system? If not I strongly suggest getting one, it has loads of information on the rather complicated system.
  12. Reference is to the newest CD's being circa 2008.
  13. Are you going to repair the door lock so you can operate the lock via the key? Get that sorted and save the money on the air bag.
  14. There is no set amount of milage to drive before the engine/exhaust will be clear.
  15. If the map for your area isn't detailed or incomplete it will not show the data, that is why updated maps were issued and then the info is spotty depending on region.
  16. I would not name the seller on the forum yet. If he is an active member on this forum I doubt he is here to scam anyone. Perhaps something is going on in his life and he hasn't been on the computer. When I was in hospital and then recovering at home I didn't touch a computer for over six weeks. I would contact Loren to advise on the next course of action. Maybe he can check when he was last online.
  17. The alarm doesn't have to be disabled to jimmy the door lock mechanism. An easier way then the " slim jim " method is for the lock smith to hook the inner door handle and open it. The first pull will unlock the door and then it can be opened using the outside door handle. The manual release cable for the front trunk is a small diameter steel cable similar to the size/shape of cabling used to operate the shifter or brake of your standard bicycle - it should be looped at the end. It is not rubber so I think you've been yanking on a electrical wiring harness. I understand your desire to try and sort this issue out yourself but you must also realize when you're out of depths which could lead to expensive damage and the vehicle off the road for a longer period of time. If in doubt, seek professional help which will lead to a positive result. Best of luck.
  18. The valve bodies do fail but I would get a second opinion. There are also companies that have a rebuilt valve bodies with updated components. Search for Sonnax valve bodies repairs.
  19. Actually I think it has both friction disks and you can mechanically lock the front differential and the rear if you have that option.
  20. Upper right of the page is a search engine.
  21. Of course the windows will mist if the climate control fan isn't functioning. There is also a drain for climate control box- it's the box that holds all the blend doors/heater core/evaporator core - so make sure the drain is clear and hasn't come adrift allowing water to drain into the passenger compartment area.
  22. I have seen many occasions where the wiring has become damaged. I believe it's from careless techs not correctly fastening or routing the harness after removing the seat for whatever reason.
  23. If it's the tank then it will smell it and you will have coolant loss. You have cleared the front cowl drain but have you cleared the climate control air box drain?
  24. Be sure the front cowl drains are clear and the cabin filter is in good condition.
  25. Complete tear down to replace thrust brngs.
