  1. Excellent question. I just vacuum it out once a week.
  2. Have the vehicles battery tested and charging system. The UK security alarm siren has a back up battery that I believe is integral to the siren. I have read reports that they can be damaged from water ingress. I think you can easily disconnect the siren which is located in the front cowl area under the windscreen wiper area on the left if memory serves.
  3. Where/How did you come by these numbers? I follow the info sticker on the vehicle, it should display loaded and unloaded values.
  4. Do the rear sensors still operate or is it just the LED display not functioning? I've tested the sensor via Durametric but no idea how to test the displays. Perhaps the best course of action is a trip to the dealer or someplace that has the Porsche tester.
  5. The electrical harness in the fender can fail and also the signal bulb socket part has been updated. The thump downshifting might be normal but I would first check for any fault codes. I'm not a supporter of these lifetime fluids and would personally change the gearbox oil/filter. If you search the site there are loads of info about a DIY fluid exchange. P.S. Welcome to the forum. I know Portsmouth well just around the corner from you.
  6. There are drains located in the front bulkhead in each corner under the cowling. Search the forum as it has been covered.
  7. Are you sure it's not a dry ball joint or tie rod end? I have never lubed a strut brng but maybe someone else can comment.
  8. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. I agree with bigbuzuki- erase the code and monitor. Also be sure the battery/charging system is operating correctly. Low voltages can cause false codes and odd electrical issues in these units.
  9. Please be more descriptive and list the radio model and whatever modules added factory or otherwise, when you say it's not working what does it not do? No volume, no display, doesn't power on, etc,etc.....
  10. The EVAP solenoid can cause a massive leak dependent on how the valve failed. I would sort this issue first.
  11. Welcome to the forum. Sorry I can't help answer your question as I've not done anything like that before but have had to replace a rear window/hatch on a 944 and it was problematic to re-align. I would suggest trying to fit the plastic window without removing the unit if possible. Best of luck.
  12. Besides fault tracing the codes, I would also recommend re-setting the throttle plate adaption. Just another diagnostic note on fuel pumps, I've also measured voltage/amps over and above fuel pressure on a road test with problem vehicles with suspect fuel issues. A few were down to poor ground connections/wiring.
  13. This alarm sounds when the vehicle is running or driving? It's not the gong for the speed alert you're hearing is it? The UK vehicles have a separate alarm siren with battery back up then what we have here in NA.
  14. Welcome to the forum. It's hard to diagnose noises over the internet but I suggest you safely jack the rear of the car (using jack stands) spin each wheel to try and determine the source of the noise. It could be something as simple as a stone caught in the rotor, damaged park brake shoe or any number of things.
  15. All the blend door servos are located on the left side of the main climate control air box. The footwell motor is the unit nearest the shifter housing but I have no data on DIY for replacement- sorry.
  16. There is a servo that control a blend door for the footwell but I don't know which one is which on the Cayenne. I'll do some research and post back any findings.
  17. Are you sure you have the rear differential lock option? Cold temps can cause this fault but it's all guess work without reading the fault codes.
  18. You haven't been very descriptive about the smoke you are seeing. Is it indeed from oil consumption or water vapour? Best to post a pic if possible.
  19. Check that they haven't dislodge one of the magnets for the shift function located in the shifter housing.
  20. Any electrical type work done to the vehicle? Has the instrument cluster ever been removed? Please post all fault codes from all modules and can you better describe that hard starting issue... eg: Is it slow to turn over? Excessive crank period? Fires but won't idle...etc
  21. You really need to have the system checked for fault codes.
  22. You need to have number 3 cylinder inspected with a scope for damage to the cylinder wall. I would also inspect the electrical connector for damage on that coil and the fuse for that circuit. Did you install an OEM plug and coil?
  23. Best to have the system checked for fault codes and post them here. It would solve years of guess work.
  24. If the battery voltage goes low for whatever reason you will get bogus codes such as these. Record all codes, clear them from all control units and monitor any that return.
  25. The only performance gain will be due to the weight savings in your wallet.
