  1. Positive result, it's a massive difference and looks great. Luckily my display is still fine but please update if you find a supplier for the screens. On another note, those power modules sold on ebay to cure this problem are bogus as you found no such device in your cluster?
  2. The Cayenne is a difficult vehicle to trace battery drains due to the complex convenience systems. You can no longer "start pulling fuses" to locate the source of the drain but you need to open both front doors,trips the latch mechanisms, remove the ignition key away from the vehicle and let the vehicle rest in this state a min of 20 minutes. One then measures the voltage drop across the fuse and using a cross-reference chart and the fuse rating to determine the allowed milliamps parasitic draw of that fused circuit. You need experience,patience and a good quality DVOM. Before going through fault tracing a battery drain be sure the charging system is operating correctly. Even though you have have 14 Volts that does not mean your are producing enough Amps. There is also a ground connection located under the drivers seat which can become loose or corroded. Can you hear anything running after the key is off? The cooling fan control module or coolant temp sensor can fail causing the cooling fans to remain on after the key is removed which can quickly drain a battery. Any other electrical problems noticed?
  3. Do you mean just general system operation or wiring diagrams?
  4. Have you checked for any fault codes? Are you saying the engine will not rev when under a load?
  5. That unit has without doubt been water damaged. I'm not sure what could have burnt at the dash area.
  6. Check with the site sponsor Sunset Porsche Parts, there is a link in the upper tool bar under Special Offers. You can replace the unit by removing the front bumper or access via the wheel fender liner if you've got small flexible hands.
  7. And clear all the cowl drains and inspect the drain tubes for damage and that they are properly secured.
  8. Remove the serpentine belt and carefully inspect all the pulleys/tensioner and idler pulley. Pay close attention to the water pump for axial movement.
  9. I'd be curious as to how it got the salvage title, water damage or engine fire or??? Might help give pointers for repair.
  10. 353 is common and can be triggered from something as simple as low battery voltage. You need to investigate code 2600 but the first course of action is to clear all codes and address any that return. A low or failing battery can cause endless odd electrical problems on CAN-BUS equipped vehicles so be sure the battery/charging system is up to par.
  11. I personally never worry about such things. Maintain the vehicle and enjoy it, if things start to go south and the expense gets too much for you to handle then shift the vehicle.
  12. It is disassembled from inside the gear box and pulled out. I can't remember but I think you need to remove the valve body and then the connecting linkage for the parking pawl before you can remove that unit.
  13. Did you read the TSB on this issue? It is the most common cause of oil leaks on the Turbo.
  14. Some of the servo motors are easier to access then others. The subject has been covered before if you search the site.
  15. Start by having the system checked for fault codes which will require the Porsche tester or Durametric. There are several motors that operate blend doors which could be suspect.

  18. Replacement of the switch is the only option that I'm aware of.
  19. Its all guess work with having a diagnostic interface on the vehicle which is the PIWIS or Durametric but of greater value is someone to interpret the data.
  20. I have seen the black plastic ball socket crack and fail which I assume was due to heat. Best course of action is to remove the other link rod and see if it is the electrical switch at the gearbox or a different pivot point causing the issue. You should easily be able to move these components by hand.
  21. Assenmacher Tools or Metalnerd has Audi/VW tools for various things.
  22. I'll echo JFP comments. This is an issue that needs sorting straight away and not to be ignored. The radiators can become clogged with road debris/leaves and such which result in reduced air flow and rot of the condensor/radiators. Be sure all rads are clean and the cooling fans are operating correctly.
  23. Are the cooling fans operating correctly? The only way your AC Tech could properly verify the amount of Freon in the system is to evacuate the system and weigh the amount collected. If he is determining volume by measuring pressure alone this can be inaccurate as it temperature sensitive which can display bogus readings.
  24. I would agree to the battery being low. Fully charge it with a proper battery charger and monitor it for future faults.
