  1. The first generation of the 987 had problems with the vents but was repaired with a updated part and I've not heard of any problems since 2006.
  2. I agree with logray but would try to turn the engine over by hand after the plugs are removed. Try and keep them in order with the cylinder they were removed from to aid with diagnostics.
  3. If the door is locked the inner door released must be pulled twice to open the door, are you saying with an unlocked door you must pull the inner/outer handle multiple times to open it? If not an alignment issue then the door latch mechanism is very dirty or worn.
  4. Have you tried turning the steering wheel to relieve the pressure off the locking assembly and then starting the vehicle?
  5. On a track you might notice the difference but very much doubt it on the street.
  6. Trailer brakes are there for safety so you don't overcome the braking potential of the tow vehicle and have some control against sway in some cases. It all depends on the weight of the trailer.
  7. Have the suspension bushings carefully inspected.
  8. New parts such as an EVAP valve do not have to be coded into the DME, that is complete BS. Are you sure there are no vacuum leaks from the work performed when the valve was replaced? A weak battery can cause many odd issues so I would address that issues straight away. You can purchase the battery from anywhere so long as it's the correct group size. Replace the battery, clear all codes and monitor any that return. Do not operate the vehicle of the check engine is flashing as it will damage emission components.
  9. The low fluid indicator light didn't come on??
  10. Or buy a replacement oil pan.
  11. I don't think there is any suspension differences between the 04-06 so handling should be the same.
  12. If it's misaligned new seals aren't going to help the issue. Have a body shop find the cause of the alignment issue and fix the issue.
  13. What code did they get? Are you having any heating/cooling issues? I personally would clear the code and only address the issue if the fault returns.
  14. When you replaced the CV boots did you disassembly the joints? I've seen people do this and cause binding in the joint which leads to a vibration.
  15. You can try to revitalize the seals using silicone spray and be sure the door hinges are not worn. Are you sure the door alignment is correct?
  16. It's a double relay located in the main relay box under the left side of the dash.
  17. Or heat shield loose. Also inspect the welds for the tail pipes as I've seen a few of these broken.
  18. The toe might be in spec but the alignment garage also needs to centre the steering wheel via the same threaded area on the rack that the toe is adjusted not removing the steering wheel and repositioning it. Any capable garage should be able to do this if nothing is worn/bent.
  19. Only option I know of is the factory unit.
  20. Are the rear bolts requiring the 90 degrees a one time use only bolt? MBenz used to call the damper a flex disc.
  21. The early Cayennes where pre-wired for the brake command wiring from the brake pedal area to the trailer module but I'm not sure if this the case on the newer models. Prodigy Brake Controller by Tekonsha comes highly recommended and they now have a wireless option but I don't know the details.
  22. You need to check the fault codes in the transmission ECU, there are several components that could at fault but it's all guess work without fault codes.
  23. The black plate is a weather proof connector to protect the plug until you install the adaptor needed for your trailer. The rule of thumb is a 4 pole connector for a standard trailer and the 7 pole for a trailer requiring brakes. The module should be coded from factory but sometimes they needed to updated to function correctly.
  24. Throwing parts at a vehicle is the wrong way to go about repairing it. Have the system pressure tested to determine the source of the leak.
