  1. If you left the key in the ignition with any airbag disconnected it will trigger the light. Only way to clear it is a trip to the dealer or find someone with the Durametric software.
  2. Your turning the wrong "nut".....it's a steel looking nut not nylon.

    ABS Light

Wouldn't hurt to change out the relay. I'll have a look at the wiring diagram to see if any thing is common.
  4. Make sure all the spark plugs are tight, it will a chirp from combustion gasses and get a second opinion
  5. I haven't had my morning coffee yet so might be a little slow but I don't understand your question. What do you mean by internally or externally amplified? Each coil discharge is controlled separately by the DME.
  6. I once had a 2.7l Boxster that took 30 km of driving to burn the excess oil out of the exhaust system after the separator was changed. I wouldn't operate the engine with the AOS disconnected or plugged off as you risk creating too much internal engine pressure which could cause a seal to fail or at least make one hell of a mess. Check the oil level and take her out for a good, long drive.
  7. Result.... thanks for getting back to us. Any wrecking yard should have the socket your looking for.
  8. Cheers Doug, thanks very much for the reply. Please post any data you discover.
  9. That is an odd one.... the ignition switch is known to causes weird things to happen, they have such a high failure rate that it might be worth just changing out to see if that solves any problems. On a side note- has the state of the charging system been checked?
  10. Not sure if this can happen in a C2 but on some vehicles if you leave the turn indicator "on" with the key off it will keep that light circuit powered..... just a thought.
  11. @ Doug H Informative post. I was wondering if you could post or point me in the direction as to what protocols Porsche uses for it's oil. Thanks in advance.
  12. I can't speak for C4's but winter tires make a huge improvement on the vehicles that I've fitted them on. I also live in central Canada where it's often -30C with loads of snow in the winter, so need less to say all Porsches are tucked away for the winter.
  13. If you made it up a snow, covered hill that you usually need a 4X4 to climb, I would think that the all-wheel drive is working.
  14. Make sure the headlight switch is in the "off" position.
  15. Durametric.com has software for a PC that can do the air bag system on your car. It's the only way I know of to put out the light.
  16. It's a central warning light... there should be another warning light on like coolant, air bag,low brake pads etc, etc. It's telling you to look at your gauges.
  17. Why do you think synthetic oil turns to sludge?
  18. Welcome to the forum. I've no idea what the noise is..... does it only occur turning right and never left?
  19. I've used the same repair technique and have never had a problem.
  20. Just use a washer to sort it out.... this is a common problem.
  21. I've replaced a few of these tanks and not had a replacement fail yet- touch wood - are you buying the OEM tanks or are these some sort of aftermarket tanks? Just a thought, possible headgasket failure and compression gasses are getting into the cooling system and damaging the tank. Might be something to look into.
  22. Wiring/electrical isn't very forgiving, you can cause loads of damage and fast, it's best to take it in and let a qaulified garage do the repair.
  23. Is this a dealer installed item or just something for the US market? Sorry sounding thick but I've not heard of this before.
  24. Good man ToolPants..... nothing like a newcastle brown.
