  1. How much was the engine over filled?? I had a oil separator fail once and oil actually dripped out of the tail pipe when you shut the engine off, when running it was hidden in a cloud of smoke. After the AOS replacement it took about 20-30 km to burn the exhaust clean.
  2. If you have no clearance issues with the new exhaust I would check the engine/transaxle mounts.
  3. First time I ever had to use my 5.5mm was on the cabin filter, all these years of pulling wrenches I never came across this size before.
  4. It depends if your car has the optional anchor braking device.....
  5. Ahhhh.... just what everyone needs, more "internet" facts.
  6. You might also have a problem with the gear indiactor switch, the odd time water can migrate into the switch.
  7. Check for engine codes and post them here, that's the best place to start.
  8. Don't "suck some tranny fluid into the intake". Just leave well enough alone, why risk damage to your engine/emission system by soaking them in oil.
  9. The noise could be caused by the starter motor bendix but as it's stalling after starting the noise might be a vacuum leak caused from the PCV valve, they can fail internally and cause a squeal sound.
  10. It might be just a mass air flow sensor fault. I would try a throttle adaption first after clearing the codes and wait to see what codes return.
  11. The hydraulic valve train often makes a rattle at start up. If your that worried about it failing then get a warranty. Have a look around the forum using the search button, loads of good info on both issues.
  12. First thing to check is that your wheel is torqued correctly, after that you need to get the weight off that axle and check for stones and such caught in the rotor area and also any free play in the wheel brng assembly.
  13. I wouldn't install a battery without the vent hose, you don't want gasses collecting and damaging anything.
  14. You don't have a voltage gauge in the instrument cluster?? I thought all Cayennes came standard with this feature.
  15. I would check the drive shaft and centre brng.
  16. Contact another dealer or Porsche Cars of NA.
  17. I would recommend the V6, better fuel milage, more then enough power for 90% of the driving, and cheaper labour cost as it's easier to work on. Like I say, drive as many as you can and make your decision from there.
  18. I haven't tried the urine as I can't find it locally. The electronic repellants I've used are silent to people but it affects the rodents on some level and really does work. Best of luck in your search.
  19. Best to contact your local dealer with your V.I.N. number and they can tell you if the TSB applies to your vehicle or not. You need to determine if it is indeed the torque convertor seal or if the source of the leak is something else.
  20. As always but the newest you can afford. The 2003 and early 04's had problem but most got resolved. I suggest driving several different model with the options you'd like or want and decide from there. Best of luck in your search.
  21. I have also used the 3M kit with great results, took a lot more elbow grease then the instructions stated but they did turn out great.
  22. This might sound odd and I can't remember if it was in a VW or Porsche but after you enter the code you push the "tune/scan up" button to accept the code. If I'm right out to lunch can someone please let me know.
  23. They don't just chew on the wires, they nibble on everything. You make it sound like Porsche is going out of their way to make the wiring harness appetizing to rodents. I live surrounded by rodents and use electronic devices to keep them away. Over the years I've tried the above mentioned tricks but none worked, I did have some success with spreading lye(said to burn their paws) around the vehicle but that just got messy.
  24. If you have a transponder in the key head it could be damaged.
