  1. I would also check the fan for the cabin air temp sensor.
  2. This happens a lot when these vehicles are stored in our cold winters, it's nothing to worry about as the oil drains from the oil tank to the engine over time. I would just check the torque on the cam cover nuts. Carefully inspect the covers for warpage next time the valve adjustment is carried out.
  3. They did change colours but I don't know what year it took place. From my understanding you can mix the Porsche coolants.
  4. Are you getting the unit rebuilt? Many repair shops don't seem to know about bronze bushing used in the drive and often the noise will return in a short time.
  5. The rubber grommet that holds the temp sensor for the engine bay fans is 993 110 530 00
  6. When it stalls is it like you turned the ignition key off or does the engine lose power, stumble and die?? Have you noticed the fuel pump noise when this happens? Any other odd electrical problems, has the ignition switch ever been replaced?
  7. Congratulations RFM!
  8. Remove the oil fill cap and see if the noise goes away... if it does it's the AOS failing
  9. Welcome and enjoy the new motor.
  10. There is an electric coolant pump that could be making the noise, there is a TSB on this issue.
  11. I believe the flasher unit is part of the hazard switch assembly.
  12. If it sounds like a valve noise then maybe it's a lifter starting to fail. What weight/type of oil are using?
  13. Have you driven both an S and Turbo? I would go for the newer face lift version myself as I prefer the newer look.
  14. You could do a pin out test following the wiring diagram but if your not familiar with such things they can get confusing very quickly. Might be best to take it into a known good indie. You're not having any other electrical problems are you? A failing ignition switch can cause odd problems, try to turn the key slightly back and forth to see if the system faults.
  15. I have read reports on the net where DIY's have lifted using the engine and after noticed the mounts leaking.... not saying that the lift was the cause of the damage or age or a combination of both but as there are better ways to lift the vehicle so why not use them.
  16. Well let's start with the basic stuff.... is the coolant level correct? Always check it with a cold engine and it should be at the cold level indicator mark. Do you ever hear the cooling fans come on?
  17. If it not the hazard switch then the signal switch itself has failed.
  18. I have read other post where owners have lifted the vehicle using the engine and damaged the mounts causing them to leak.... maybe it's not the best way to lift.
  19. How many miles on the vehicle? There have been some problems with water pumps but only brng failures and leakage that I know of.
  20. A bad coil can foul the spark plug and it will never recover, you need to replace the plug and also check the oil for fuel contamination. Never operate the vehicle if the MIL is flashing.
  21. Check the fan that draws air in for the cabin temp sensor, it located in the r/side dash vent.
  22. The only thing that would change that I can think of is the RPM might drop slightly as the fans come on as the alternator load would be increased. No idea why it would change the exhaust note so much.
  23. Congrats on the new toy, be sure to post loads of pics. And let us know how well the interface works with iphone.
  24. That is an awful part to replace, you have to remove the intake manifold. It's rather straight foreword to replace just loads of things to remove and a cramped working space. I would think a handy DIY could do the job.
