  1. Very common. You can just zip tie it in place.
  2. Anytime. Maybe too late now but you can make your own pin release tool using a steel hair clip. Here's one I made for this type of pin. The angled tips are critical.

  6. Have you tried adjusting the shifter cable connections under the center console?
  7. Those codes are saying the engine is running lean (too much air or too little fuel) during both idle and under load. If you're confident about the MAF, I think it makes sense to: - use smoke machine for air leak - check the purge valve that's connected to the left of the throttle body to see if it's stuck open - pressure and flow test the fuel system

  9. Checked the fuse on the immobilizer? With a multimeter, you can do some troubleshooting like jumping and checking the starter relay to see if you have problems on the relay and thr high current side, or the DME is not even trying to activate the starter relay.
  10. Other than condensation, are you currently losing coolant if you leave it alone? If you are, how much you lose in a week?

  12. Their price has come down quite a bit lately to ~$75 because they are made in Mexico now. Still good quality though and I have no problems with it.
  13. The CAP is supposed to vent off extra pressure only when the pressure is very high at 27-29 PSI or so. Have you ever pressure test the tank with a proper tester that can pressurize the tank to something close to 19PSI? The vacuum tool is not an effetive leak tester. Some leaks only reveal themselves under positive pressure and not vacuum.
  14. If it still persists after some drive cycles and no CEL, it would help if we can get fuel trims FRAU, FRAO, etc. and such, could be a fuel pressure issue. Will also help if you can verify your MAF reading is ~3.6g/s @ 700 and ~19g/s at 3k rpm with engine fully warmed up and a/c off. Also you can check how much the MAF reading is at 5-6k, on my 3.6, I've seen 60-120g/s.
  15. How old are the fuel filter and spark plugs ? Can Autologic show misfire counters in real-time like Durametric? May help if we know which cylinder(s) is misfiring when that happens.
  16. Is the CEL on and have you scanned it with an OBDII or Porsche scanner?
  17. Very simple. All you need is the last line - oil expands 0.00039 per degree. Hot engine ~220F and room temp ~75F and that's 145F temp difference. The oil volume expansion is then 0.00039 * 145 = 5.6% 5.6% of 9L of oil = 0.5L
  18. Check the cable linkage, where the cables are connected to the transmission. Do the cables move when you move the shifter? If they don't, check the linkage of the shifter under the center console.
  19. Maybe you can try to remove the center screw on the damper and replace it with a longer screw that you can pull while holding the piston in place with something.
  20. What's the voltmeter in the instrument cluster reading when you're driving the car (should read between 13.5V and 14.5V) Any aftermarket electronics that may drain the battery when car is sitting?
  21. Um, that can't be the CPS, which will not stop the starter. A bad CPS will just let the engine crank but never fires up.One case I know was the engine is so hot that makes the starter seize due to the close tolerance of the starter. The coolant fan on that car were not working. How hot was the coolant when this happened and are your coolant fans working at both low and high speeds?
  22. I agree with Silver though your problem sounds more like a wire harness issue because the starter doesn't even engage sometimes, which has nothing to do with the CPS. To diagnose it further, you need to check why the starter is not spinning by checking the starter relay, clutch switch, and ignition switch if you can reproduce it with confidence.
