  1. No this will not likely clear the fault...take Loren's advice.
  2. IMO, He should have refused to install them. You expect your wrench to take care of your car and you.
  3. welcome to renntech :renntech: we're the same over here....get a durametric, get the codes, then post the codes and we can help.
  4. this does not sound right...mine is much firmer than stock...Mine are set to 3/2, but I am also using FVD version and I have a cab.
  5. I am sorry, I suppose you have difficulty with reading (this response delivered from a computer)...so what's up with the personal attack? lighten up and please respect the posted guidelines....for your assistance: It is really helpful if you list: · Model year · Model/Engine (i.e. Boxster 2.5, Boxster 2.7, Boxster S, Boxster S Special Edition, etc.) · Transmission type (i.e. 5 speed, 6 speed or Tiptronic) · Interior color (when relevant) · Country specific information (LHD, RHD, RoW, US, Canada)
  6. which part of model do you not get?
  7. if you have no codes....this could just be the variocam...if you are not used to it the symptoms are much as you describe.
  8. Not sure if this is what you want, but here are the instructions for calibrating the fuel level sensor Calibrating fuel level sensor system Note · Calibration is necessary after replacement of the fuel tank, fuel level sensor or instrument cluster. The fuel level sensor system need not be calibrated if the battery was disconnected or a plug connection on the instrument cluster or fuel level sensor was removed. The values remain stored in the instrument cluster. · · A range on remaining fuel of less than 15 km is not displayed in the instrument cluster. 1. Disconnect the battery and cover terminal or battery. 2. Remove cap over the fuel level sensor system. 3. Remove fuel level sensor. ’ Rep. Gr. 20 66 19; Removing and installing fuel pump. 4. Using a fuel extractor, completely drain the fuel tank through the fuel level sensor opening. Fuel extractor: Refer to the Workshop Equipment Manual, Chapter 3 "Workshop Equipment". 5. −Make sure that the two recesses on the left and right−hand sides of the tank are emptied completely.− 6. Reinstall the fuel level sensor and, with "ignition off", fill the tank with −28 litres− of fuel. 7. Perform tank calibration with the Porsche System Tester 2: · Select vehicle type (911 Carrera) · Select control modules · Select instrument cluster · Select menu item "Tank calibration" · Confirm calibration 8. The fuel level sensor system has now been calibrated.
  9. Sorry, I only have the SmartTop as I do not wish to put any more drain on the battery by closing the top without the car on. Get a hold of Stephan at Wilhelmy, he is usually very helpful.
  10. First, is the brake engaged? The sensor could be bad. Second, check the fuse (D3). After that there are a couple of things: 1. Loose connection 2. Low hydraulic fluid 3. the "flaps" in the back are stuck
  11. How long did you run the fuel pump? The problem with mine was a ruptured hose inside the tank. The pump worked fine, but was pumping fuel back into the tank...so if there was fuel in the pump, it would have worked as you found. Have you tested the battery, perhaps there is not enough juice to start it and the alternator fix didn't work. Get the codes read anyway.
  12. This has happened to me twice....both times a ruptured fuel line (hose inside the fuel tank). It is either that or the fuel pump as Pierre says.
  13. Yes. too bad...I would go for a new one.
  14. my and model of car? Get the codes read and we can help with interpreting and diagnosis. I would suggest using a battery tender vs. disconnecting the battery.
  15. my advice is to get the codes read before you do anything. the codes will help diagnose the problem....or of course you could randomly replace parts until it works for a while...
  16. First you have correlation, not causation...the rain may have nothing to do with the problem. I also suggest you get the codes read by PIWIS, PST2 (dealers) or durametric...these are much better diagnostic tools.
  17. As suggested already...get the codes read to help diagnose the situation....either that or start replacing parts until it goes away.
  18. read this: link 1 Another interesting link and best for last link you should get a read out of all of the codes when you do a PPI.
  19. It can not adjust the sensor, only see if it is working. It either works or does not.
