  1. Yes some have experience with them... here are some others see here also I went with TechArt.
  2. i got the vehicle with the rear original scoops already installed(not holes) haha.....if u can find me a turbo for 25k i will definately take it.... You mean your car plus the mods was 25K....hmmmmm here is one for less than 40K
  3. well interesting, for what you spent you could probably own a real 996TT (including your trade in of course)?
  4. What advice do you want? Yes the Porsche Turbo is simply a classic sports car always was and always will be. Try searching some other sites... Rennlist 6speedonline that will get you started...
  5. good point rfm....I suppose the clutch and pressure plate could be "adjusted" for the flywheel....sounds like fun.
  6. while there is no adjustment for the clutch, you could try bleeding the clutch. There are some that suggest you can change the length of the slave rod. see here
  7. Can you get the boost to show up in another spot... There are 3 locations that can be customized in the On-board Computer...it is in the manual.
  8. No, did you touch any of the wires? Do all of the other cluster electronics work?
  9. I've got a new set of disks, but no upgrade disk was in the package. I don't need an upgrade as my 04 has software version 3.0, but beware of whether the package contains the upgrade disks....
  10. Ooops..my bad...I would have thought replacing the mirror glass was obvious...doh!
  11. try searching here. a lot depends on what you want shine, protection, etc. I use poorboys and zaino myself.
  12. front wheel = Vorderrad rear wheel = Hinterrad...in German
  13. Either the light switch or ignition switch....if you wiggle the key around do the lights come on?
  14. Loren, I'm just reporting what others have seen (just the messenger). I know the actual differences between the X50 and standard are often debated, even the literature is not real clear. In any case, you can certainly upgrade a standard TT to the X50 mods (GT2 tranny, GT2 exhaust, K24 turbos, GT2 ICs, ECU re-map)...at what cost I don't know (~$17K for the factory X50 option). Would I do it...absolutely not as there are cheaper aftermarket solutions that are better IMHO.
  15. All I can say is Tom Kerr (see here has opened the tranny and found no difference in the X50 transmission (from a standard TT), not gear ratios or steel synchros...perhaps his tranny was left out (but I doubt it).
  16. cylinders 1-3 drivers side (bank 1), 4-6 are passenger side (bank 2). What are the actual codes? Without the actual codes it could be a number of things. Since you have straight pipes it is possible the O2 sensors were incorrectly installed, you blew your MAF, misfires could be plugs/coil pack...well you get the idea....
  17. Well...the components could be fit....the question is with all of the aftermarket options available why would you want to do this? You would need K24 turbos (and there are hybrids that are better), GT2 ICs...the other supposed upgrades are "stronger transmission" although there is no evidence of this for those that have opened the tranny up. There is also a debate on the ECU being modified, but aftermarket flashes are much better.
  18. glad to hear you're finally getting her back....I know it has been a while. drive safe.
  19. I am considering installing the Denison Icelink in my 2004 996TT. How do you like yours so far? Thanks! It is actually Dension Gateway 500. With the current firmware it is really nice. So far it has been very stable. It displays song and artist.
  20. at least they didn't charge for the KY Jelly....sheesh...that is ridiculous. Find an Indy or another stealer. Get another opinion.
  21. that is not where the water sits on the reverse lips....My guess is the holes are for balance. I do not have this issue with mine, but I don't drive in the rain either. that does look like some excessive rust.
  22. OK...yes the reverse lip HRE are known for not allowing the water to drain. There is actually a piece you can get from them to allow the water to "come out" while driving.
