  1. but the cover moves up...its just that the canvas top doesnt want to come out Thanks Loren, that is what I meant. What the heck do you mean "the cover"? Makes no sense....you mean the frame? Did the canvas come off the frame? which part is the problem:
  2. is the emergency brake engaged? it could be the emergency brake sensor...
  3. FYI, Chuck has nothing to do with administration of the site. Here is a link to become a member, as Chuck says it is worth it. Lots of knowledgeable folks that can help you out and access to all the TSBs. Welcome aboard, drive safe!
  4. According to the show "Myth Busters" it does not work. see here
  5. No worries...Have a Happy Holiday Loren...thanks for the great site!
  6. Loren, are you sure about this? Only reason I ask is I have seen: Link
  7. It could also be the receptacle contacts are bent. I had to pry the contacts out a little to get a good connection.
  8. 1. Talk to your tuner. They should be able to supply a lower boost program. Or just flash back to stock. (sounds like you need a flash loader.)
  9. Dude, relax....it is not directed at you. You are the one that suggested changing the oil after fuel treatment...there is no relationship between the two systems (if there is you are in trouble). We are just saying that it is a marketing ploy to suggest changing the oil after fuel treatment (i.e., it is bs to do this).
  10. 99 is absolutely right...it is marketing to get you to change your oil more than needed.
  11. There are 2 approaches: 1. replace the OEM spring sets with stronger springs (so they don't release pre-maturely) 2. install EBC and take the decision away from the ECU. I did the first one...first I don't really drag race and second I don't want to remove the safety features built in by the ECU. I have read of at least 3 that have blown up using the EBC. This does not mean they are no good as there are also those that run fine with them, it just removes some of the safety IMHO.
  12. I have one....saved my butt several times...yes they work for laser and yes the are ilegal in some states....so is speeding. Install it stealth and when it jams, slow down and shut it off.
  13. Yes, you got taken....I bought the disks from Sunset...put the new disk for my region in and it updated automatically...took about 5 minutes.
  14. Do your homework...make sure those hoses fit like OEM....or you will be chasing leaks. I did the EVOMS red silicone hoses and never a problem. Also if you are going to change your intake in the future, this will effect which hoses you should get. As far as DVs go...simplest IMO is the EVOMS DV...no springs to deal with, work great (this is what I would recommend for you). I also have been recommended to use the Forge DVs. Actually have a set in the box. They require using the correct spring to match your tune....ask your tuner for what is desired.
  15. I have been told "Clutch and brake materials, when new, are in a 'green' state, the material has small gaps like a sponge, also the bonding agents are note fully cured. As you break in the clutch,as pads, the bonding agents 'gas off' and the compound is compressed into the voids as it beds. The purpose of breaking in a clutch is to engage the disc in a controlled, consistent manner to ensure the disc, pressure plate and flywheel all make full surface contact. It's also a chance for the friction material to experience normal heat cycles." I personally think heat cycles is more important...so drive it in stop and go and then let it cool...repeat. Not sure if this is different with the kevlar FWIW.
  16. That's what I was thinking...I looked at the service manual and...hey maybe it is a slick way to ask for the service manual...nice one T2
  17. I assume you have checked fuses? does the condition change if you wiggle the key in the ignition? If so it is the ignition switch...if not possibly the light switch.
  18. Sorry, I don't but here is a link that discusses them
  19. OK, got them from Sunset...$299. The set I got was for NA (canada, mexico, us) and Brasil, but I imagine there are some available for E. Date is 08/2007.
