  1. When I first installed my ST some 5 years ago, I had similar issues. It turns out I needed to get the ST unit replaced (which Stephan did quite nicely)...never did hear what was wrong with it. There is theoretically a top calibration that can be done with the PST2 or PIWIS tool. Not sure what it does. I have used the manual crank several times and did not need to get the unit calibrated. Make sure the module is connected properly and tight....you might just plug and un-plug it again. You could also try a soft reset by disconnecting the battery (make sure you have your radio code). Otherwise it is off to a workshop with the Porsche tools mentioned above.
  2. Good point...perhaps you are starving the system of fuel because of your mods and flash...since you have a 700 package, what fuel pump is installed? Have you scanned for codes?
  3. I have never heard of a MAF causing a car to shut down...go into limp maybe, but not shutdown...my guess is fuel related....either pump or ruptured fuel line in the tank.
  4. When this happened to me, Porsche replaced the entire unit...fortunately under warranty.
  5. jp got you covered for the spoiler....for the remote...does the key fob flash when you push it? what does the dash light do? since you have done the typical reset, it is likely you will need the fob re-paired with the immobilizer....this requires PIWIS or PST2 (along with IPAS and 24 digit key code).
  6. first, please post MY and model any aftermarket equip and last maintenance...thanks. I don't know what sticky means. Never had or heard of this problem. Symptoms are not typical slave/accumulator. Perhaps the clutch needs to be bled and/or fluid changed. They are hydraulic, so no real adjustments...
  7. Been using the Zaino lines for years...hard to beat.
  8. without know exactly what it does I would not risk it. It would be far better idea to flash the ECU than piggyback with the possibility of effecting the safety programs built into the ECU.
  9. Now you need to replace the gold emblem on your shift knob...LOL. Haven't seen that one replaced yet (I have the same issue)
  10. I have the silver crest...looks good on my black car:
  11. I think you mean there were no 2003 MY 996TT cabs...I was just a bit suspicious of the data as reported...it probably is sales data vs. MY data.
  12. huh...I didn't know there was a 2003 996TT cab????
  13. unfortunately there has been very little technological breakthrough for standard car batteries. there are options for weight/size/looks, but not much to improve performance and longevity. as said above do not buy Porsche battery. also as implied, the battery will last longer if its charge is maintained. If it goes dead or loses charge, that will significantly affect the longevity. Get a new battery and put a maintainer on it.
  14. Chuck, thanks for the reminder...I forgot where I put my teeth this morning...what's a drivers license?
  15. First to answer your question...it is not normal. As 1999 says usually folks have negative camber set-up (as it comes from the factory). Second...IMHO, you really should think twice about alignment for economy vs. handling...you have a 400+ hp car with some serious torque. Only takes one poor decision to cost a lot more than a set of tires. Third (if the tires were not remounted), the problem could be suspension link related...I would get it inspected. Oh and how is the tire pressure?
  16. uh...are you serious? Have you driven one...I'm 200+ horses over that LOL...In any case you will get used to the power and may want more before long.
  17. please search...accumulator and/or slave.
  18. saw this link on another forum: leather...no experience with them.
  19. I agree with Ben...running 19's for several years and keep fairly high pressure in them...love the ride.
  20. IMO, PSSx are more compliant than stock (X73 or X74) and yet also handle WAY better.
  21. I do believe an aftermarket suspension is a plus for ride and handling. The front end is lighter than the rear and there is a lot of power when you stomp on it. Perhaps you should take it to a track with an instructor to get the hang of it! For your use I would still do coilovers vs. springs. So why are you upgrading ICs and headers for K16s? Absolutely NO reason to do this. You should really do some searches rather than just replacing "typical car upgrades". There is very little difference in capability of the 996TT, GT2 or 997TT ICs. Yopu get nothing for headers until possibly >650hp. Get exhaust, DVs and flash...until you decide on where you want to be in the end... No this is not typical....you probably have a bad front diff (actually a seal as you say), but when mine had a very minor leak (actually just moist, no loss of fluid) Porsche replaced the entire front diff. (under warranty) They did not want the dealer opening up the diff... I have no issues with my brakes, I think they are quite good. Perhaps your car was a little abused? They are plenty good for your current hp (and mine)...now if you want to go >650hp...there are better brake systems out there of course. IMHO you should get to know your car, learn to drive it and then sit down and think about where you want to be ultimately. Talk to the tuners (Kevin, Todd(s), etc) and then line up your mods. Drive safe.
  22. sounds like pagid orange...that is the sound they make...they are designed for track where no one cares...LOL
  23. Well that depends on two things: 1. how high the fluid level is from the top and, 2. how you drive. I use them with "open" containers and don't spill FWIW
