  1. Yes! Thanks for helping me out! It's nice to go through the steps of testing instead of throwing parts for a fix. I will be ordering the part. Torque setting for the CPS bolt? I just have a couple of questions to get an understanding. After I got a low-voltage drop at the fuel pump, I turned it over and the tach didn't move much, does this indicate the CPS may be faulty? Also, can CPS just go bad from sitting or could this be more of a coincidence?
  2. Good morning JFP, I did a resistance test. Firstly, I tested pins 1 and 2 on the lowest setting. The reading stayed at 1 so I went up to the next highest. I consistently got as high as 911. Next, pins 1 and 3 reading stayed at 1 from the lowest setting up to the highest setting, so really high resistance. Looks like a lot of resistance overall. Do you think the CPS sensor is bad? I attached a few pictures.
  3. Hello JFP, I finally got some time to get the car up and get to the connector to test. I attached a picture. I'm assuming pins 1-3 are from left to right based on the picture. Which pins are the ground and the live wire?
  4. As always, you are spot on with instruction. I appreciate the detailed explanation. I'm going to look into this. I'll get back to you. Thanks!
  5. Interesting. All new stuff to me. What range of number should I get with an AC voltage test? As far as the signal strength and the use of the scope to measure; what type of scope and where does it's interface?
  6. Ok. I'm new to testing electronics. Would I do a voltage test at the connector of the CPS?
  7. Ok. Initially I was going to change this but went in a different direction. I hope this is my issue! Where is the crank position sensor located? Is the part number the same for a Boxster and S version? I have a 2002 S. Thanks!
  8. The tachometer raises a 1/5 of 1000 rpms then drops down when you turn it off. No bouncing.
  9. Hey JFP, I decided to check the voltage of the power source (at the connector) to the fuel pump. I first tested the battery which was a little over 12V. I started the test on the multimeter at 20V but got nothing. I had to go to the lowest setting on the multimeter to get any reading that was no higher than 1.5V. The voltage drop shouldn't be that low, correct? I got a fuel pressure kit but I wanted to be sure if power was getting to the fuel pump. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
  10. Hey JFP, I tried to the jumper pin. It wouldn't turn over but I "think" I hear some whirring forward the cabin when I leave the ignition on. I do hear the throttle body resetting in the background. I never noticed, but what kind of sound does the fuel pump make?
  11. I'm going to try to tackle this myself. I see a post of yours on another forum. Where is the shrader value to connect the fuel pressure gauge? I see a diagram but not sure exactly where it is in the engine bay.
  12. Thanks JFP. I guess I'm in a jam. Ive done a lot work on my car but not familiar with the testing stated above. Any tips? Do you think Chevron Techron would help?
