  1. Hi. I'm looking at this DIY: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=5190 and I wanna buy the two cables mentioned in there: Becker part numbers: 1319.116-276 and 5001.524-276. The phone number in the thread doesnt work and I cant find them online.
  2. Hi. On my 2000 C2, if I look at the brake reserviour, on the side where the min/max marks are, just below it, I see a plastic yellow button. What is that?
  3. Hi. For a 2000 C2, what are the cranking amp and cold cranking amp specs. I found some threads on battery replacement options, but I'm looking for the specs.
  4. hi. on a 2000 C2? I have the fuse plan, but i don't see a listing for the interior cabin lights? also, is there another fuse or relay panel elsewhere in the car?
  5. just got it out (only to find that the dealer gave me the wrong part for the new one). I had to remove all bolts from both (nearby) coolant line brackets. even then, it just fit, coming out, but it worked.
  6. Hi. on a 2000 C2? I'm in the middle of the job now (disconnected one hose), and it looks pretty tight in there. I don't want to remove the coolant lines but I dont see how I can get it without?
  7. Thanks guys. Yeah, this thing looks complete and brand new. i had a list of things to change, like the thermostat, flush the pwr steering fluid, change spark plugs, but I guess all that's new.
  8. Hi. 'just bought a 2000 C2 with a reman engine (replaced a year ago). When the Porsche dealership replaces an engine do they reuse any parts from the old engine? I ask cause i have no maint recs and i wanna know if I should replace things like thermostat, water pump, spark plugs, spark plug tube (Orings) power steering fluid. Do they replace the tranny too (it's a Tiptronic)?
  9. Hi. 'just bought a 2000 911 C2. The battery that's in there doesn't look right. What are the OEM cold cranking amp specs and what are some (non-Porsche dealership) replacement options? Thanks.
  10. Hi. 'just bought a 2000 911 Tiptronic. The engine serial number is M96/04AT66Y66622
  11. Hi. On model year 2000, the failed spoiler light is on, on the dash. What are some typical causes? Any advice is appreciated.
  12. Hi. On a 2000 996 with a Tiptronic, i heard it's model number 5HP19 made by a company called ZF. It's used in many other German cars and I heard the VW fluid is the right one. VW part number G-052-162-A2 which is the same as Esso LT 71141. Is this the right fluid for the Tip tranny in a 996? porsche dealer wont sell me fluid.
  13. 'thinking of changing the plugs and i wonder if anyone has any experience with the pulstar plugs.
  14. Hi. on a 2000 996. I was wondering if the pink coolant we use is identical to the pink coolant VW and Audi uses (they call it G12).
  15. Hi. On a 2000 Tiptronic, if I just jack up the car a little, I can plainly see the tranny fluid pan. Does that mean I'm missing a shield?
  16. Thanks Loren. That makes sense. As for having my Tip checked, well I would be the one doing the checking ;-) I guess I'll start by dropping the pan and changing the gasket.
  17. Hi. On a 2000 with Auto/Tip tranny, i see oil (or something) all ove the sides and bottom of the tranny pan. If I didn't know about the dreaded RMS leak, i would say it's simply the tranny pan gasket. but could the RMS leak be in that area as well?
  18. Ah, thank you. So was the 3-spoke steering wheel coupled with any other options? I.e. if a car has the 3-spoke, it also has option X?
  19. Hi. under the engine, on the passenger side, I notice a slight film of oil.
  20. Hi. All 996's have the Porsche logo embedded in the steering wheel. but how come *some* have it in color and some are just indented into the steering wheel with whatever the color of the steering wheel is?
  21. Hi. I heard some of the 99 MY were suseptible to cracked cylider walls. Was it just the 99's? Is there any way to tell (e.g. manufacture date) if a particualr 99 is suseptible to this?
