  2. Was there any resolution to this issue with the misfire codes? I’m currently experiencing the same trouble and would love to hear your ideas.
  3. Airbag light comes on my 2006 Cayenne turbo S ….Durametric cannot communicate with the airbag module so into the dealer she goes. They tell me the passenger side front seatbelt retractor is bad. $600 and change to replace it. I approve the repair online and then called him about 30 minutes later asking for the old parts to be left in the car that were replaced. All of a sudden the price jumps up to $900.!!! Sounds fishy ….I told the service advisor I am not comfortable with the price increase right after I ask for the old parts and accountability! Final repair comes in at just under $600 but no old parts were provided when I picked up the vehicle. Back online it appears there’s a company possibly in Wisconsin that you can ship your seatbelt retractor to and they’ll repair it and provide a lifetime warranty. Not sure if simply repairing/replacing this will turn the airbag light off or not.
  4. I started pulling fuses around the starter relay under the hood and the car came back to life . Not sure exactly which fuse was the problem but none of them were blown. It’s like it just went to sleep and then woke up .
  5. Richard and Phoney, I have an update on my 06 CTTS! I didn't have any luck with the side dash fuses so started pulling fuses in the relay box between the firewall and brake fluid resv. Not sure which fuse woke it up but simply pulling and pushing fuses back in woke it up! I do have a warning light on the dash for the suspension that was not there before, so I will try to clear the code in Durametric and diagnose for other faults. Will keep you posted. Could it be coincidental that my "service now" msg is also on the instrument panel? second update: warning light for the suspension went off as soon as I drove it around the block. Tim in Ft Worth

  7. Thanks Red and Rick! great info and definitely gives me a couple of leads to follow! Got my fingers crossed that it’s the starter relay . In my 06 CTTS it is under the cover between the brake fluid reservoir and the windshield.
  8. Guys has anyone heard failure to replace these lines can cause hard shifting or banging in the transmission?
  9. just wondering if your mechanic did the step-by-step Greg outlined above? Did he do a smoke test on the vacuum lines? I would do both of these before buying any more parts. Tim in Ft Worth
  10. A quick search of this forum showed no sign of any discussion on infant seats. I am a proud new grandpa as of yesterday with a newly purchased 2006 (mfg date 10/06) CTTS as well. So I am interested in what infant seat works well in the back seat of a Cayenne? I'm especially interested in seats that have the plug which disabled the rear airbags. I found the leads under the rear seats which I presume plug into the car seat. Any advice woud be greatly appreciated and if you have one to sell I'd like to hear more about that as well. And I have to say this Turbo S is worth every penny...what a ride!! Tim in Ft Worth

  12. Been a while since anyone has mentioned this important extended warranty and I have some new information on my case, so here goes. I finally found the receipt for the coils. It was with some other parts for another project I bought at the same time. Never thought to look in THOSE boxes! So I send the letter and receipt to Porsche a couple of months ago and time goes by so I get antsy. After many phone calls I get a check for the parts but no labor reimbursement. Many more phone calls to the gods explaining I can't find the receipt but that their own letter plainly states that they "may" reimburse what Porsche would charge. Initially they refused. You can read that part of the letter in my post above. It's about two thirds of the way down the page. Then I talk some more and they reconsider but here is the rub. They refuse to pay what Porsche would charge me to do the job. I get a check today for $174.20 They call this a compromise which is not the same as a reimbursement. I have to look at this as better than nothing, which is what I had since 2009 when I bought the coils. Tim in Ft Worth

  14. congrats on your lucky buy, Greg! I hope I am at least half that lucky when mine comes along. Did you have it checked out by a dealer or roll the dice on mechanical condition? I think a Cayenne with that many miles has survived the worst of it and has a long life ahead! Tim in Ft Worth
