  1. I forget how to display the serial number on a 210, it is easy on a 220. The sticker on the back of the face plate is not the serial number. Try this. Push the tone button then immediately push 8 and 0 at the same time and the display should show BECKER. Then push the tuning togle button up until you see serial number. Then press the right arrow key. Or pull the radio and look at the sticker. Then PM me with the last 4 digitis of the serial number. Put the window in the 1/2 position then pull up and down on the window glass. If it moves then you have a bad regulator. If the drivers door lock does not work with the remote then it is probably the lock solenoid.
  2. I saw 2 new Boxster Ss just off the truck today. One was a 2005 and the other a 2006? The front car is ok. The car behind it has a problem. Trivia, what is wrong with this window sticker? The same sticker is in the bottom 2 pictures.
  3. What is it with UK gorilla mechanics? http://www.boxa.net/forum/index.php?showto...05entry155605
  4. There is a guy in the UK who took it apart and painted it.
  5. If by some miracle you still have the original battery then replace it. It it is newer then charge it and take it down to an auto parts place and have them do a load test. If it test good then get a multitester. Use the amp setting. Normal draw is 40 milliamps.
  6. If you have a multitester test the bulb and the socket. Sometimes a bulb can look good when when you use an ohm meter it is really bad. How do you know there is power to the bulb.
  7. Never measured it but here is some info. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...opic=206&hl=ohm
  8. The part number I gave is for the trim when the a/c display is below the vents, which is not what you wanted. The part number you guys have is for when the display is just above the batwing, which is what you want.
  9. 996 552 677 00 01C
  10. This is how Peter opens the car with the inside door handle.
  11. I assume Porsche will do for the 987 what was done for the 986. You should get the first year (2005) tech into. The first year covers everything. Each year thereafter the booklet is just a few pages telling you what is new and different for that year. It does not cover what was covered in the first year booklet.
  12. I think the CDC-4 changer we put in Raman's 2003 Boxster S last year was 996 645 140 01. This is still a good part number but there is a newer number, 997 645 140 02. Double check your part number. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=512&st=20 http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2429 You also need the correct fiber optic kit. Loren posted a list of the kits.
  13. I also just bought a set of the sided reinforced cables for the old style transmissions. These are the cables that are the proper size but were discontinued and superseded by 986 561 717 03, which is the current replacement cable used on the new style for both sides, but which is 1" longer. My dealer searched on the computer and I saw that the Porsche Exchange in Illinois had a set of the discontinued cables on their shelf. So I bought the pair for $20 each.
  14. The radio and changer are both made by Becker and so it the connecting cable. The Porsche part number is 993 645 453 00. I have been told the Becker part number is 1184.709-276. If you buy it from a Becker supplier just say you need a Silverstone cable. If you cannot find it for a decent price in the UK you might try Becker in the US. http://www.beckerautosound.com/
  15. His car was still there today. Has good company. The CGT with 3,200 miles is waiting for the second clutch replacement.
  16. Inspect the clips on the window and on the rollbar and compare one side to the other. It is not always obvious when one is broken.
  17. You just buy the clear version and make the swap.
  18. You can reclocate the display to just above the shift knob. This is the trim if you have PCM. There is no cross bar.
  19. New style transmissions. Left is 986 561 179 03 and right is 986 561 180 03. They are expensive which is why we try to reuse the old style. The mounting studs for the new style are a different length. There are 3 studs on each side. New style studs are 986 561 789 01 and you will need 6.
  20. The aux-in adapter sold by Becker only works with the 220 radio and the last year for that radio was 2002.
  21. I unlock them with a normal or deep socket.
  22. When you are at speed it will flex back and forth. As long as none of the clips are broken it will not fly out.
  23. There is no name. It is a parts warehouse. One of the 2 places the USA Porsche dealers gets their parts from. You cannot buy parts from the warehouse because you are not a dealer.
  24. You can move it to just above the bat wing.
