  1. The TSB has the part number for the kit. The switch is not included.
  2. It is 92. This is the one sold by Porsche.
  3. You will need to adjust the top to the car with these allen bolts. They are under a plastic cover on each side of the top.
  4. I remove the trim panels for the seat belts. Then you have a clear shot at getting the pinch bolts in.

Madam No Fear does the installs on local cars. I bet you can get her to take your car apart. If you also want to install one of the "metal" cable connectors that can be done at the same time. Or, just have Stevens Creek Porsche do it for you.
  6. The adapter in the top of my picture is for a PST2. The bottom adapter in my picture (which you have) is for a PIWIS. This is before my time, so don't quote me. Before the standard OBDII plug came into existence, the older Porsches had a different diagnostic plug. The cable in the picture below is used on a 993 before 1996. The other end of that cable went into the Bosch Hammer. When the Bosch Hammer was discontinued then there was the PST2 to replace it, and now that the PST2 is discontinued there is the PIWIS to replace the PST2. In order to used the older Hammer cable with the PST2 you need the adapter in the top of my picture. When the PIWIS came out an adapter was needed for the PIWIS as the PST2 adapter will not work with a PIWIS. I see only this one adapter in the tool catalog for the PIWIS. I guess Bosch/Porsche did not want to make a cable for the older cars that would work directly with the PST2/PIWIS, so they came up with adapters to use the older cable with the newer testers. So, when do you let us borrow the PIWIS....
  7. Weird. I checked Samstag Sales which sells German tools and Sir Tools 9701 is listed as discontinued. Hazet and Stahlwille also makes pin extractors, but they cost more than Sir Tools. I have never been able to find Mibotool - even asked on the German Boxster board.

  9. Need to see a picture of what you have and what you think is missing. There was a recall on the gas cap.
  10. You have a model year 2000. If your car was built as a model year 2000 but registered in the US on September 23, 1999, then it would be registered as a 2000 model. Different rules in the UK. I think there are two registration dates/months per year in the UK. So if you want a newly purchased car to be registered as a "newer" car then you don't drive the car until the next registration period starts. Or something like that. The UK stuff is confusing. That is how a 987 owner on boxa.net ends up with a 2004 - he could not wait unit the next registration period. For the 4 stalker try the UK boards, but you are not going to find a cheap one unless it is used. Parts are much more expensive in the UK than the US.   11. It is an adapter for the PIWIS. So, why do you have it?
  12. He is in the UK. They have a registration system that has been explained to me several times on the UK boards, and it still does not makes sense. There is a guy on boxa.net who has a 2004 987, but the 987 was released as a model year 2005. Go figure. The first MODEL year for e-gas was 2000 when the 2.7 and 3.2 came out. Some of those cars were made and sold in the second half of 1999, but in the US when they were registered they were registered as 2000 models, not 1999. Model years 1997-1999 were all 2.5 and they all had cable operated throttles.
  13. The level sensor is very sensitive. Just a little low and the light comes on. When you restart the coolant is hot so it has expanded a bit, and the level is higher. That is why the light does not come back on after a restart. Just add some water to bring the level up to the max.

  17. Sometimes the mechanics give me defective parts to play around with. Like the 996 remote in the picture.
  18. If you can hear the relay clicking then it "sounds" :lol: like you have 2 bad horns. Usually just one goes out, and it is usually the one you can see through the opening in the bottom of the bumper cover because that horn exposed to water. The other horn is mounded differently inside the cover so water can't get to it. You can see both horns in the picture. My finger is pointing to the one that usually does not drink water. But, maybe you are the lucky owner with two bad horns.

Been a few years and nothing has melted or blown. The combined amp draw on my electric and air horns is going to be far greater than your proposed replacement electric Hella horns
  20. Separate the joints for the black push rods. Then you lift up the clamshell to the full open position. When the clamshell is up remove the brass colored clip for each push rod and remove the rods from the car. Then disconnect the red plastic joints. You will now be able to operate the top manually. To straighten the clamshell so that it will close get 2 people and tweat it back into shape. Search the top section as I have a picture of 2 mechanics doing this. Most likely you have a broken drive cable. If you need help you can bring it to my office in San Jose near the Arena.
  21. The horns are made by FER. http://www.fer-online.com/ The part number on the high tone is 01 2222 903. I assume this is a FER part number. I do not have a low tone to look at. I would not be at all suprised if it is also used by Audi/WV.
