  1. 999 650 320 22 and N 903 352 04. 56 cents for both so it is worth a shot. These 2 electrical connectors are listed in the TSB for Traffic Pro and I ordered them just to see what they were. I have see the same connectors being used in other wiring. Jeff
  2. Get a set like Jonathan says, as there are many torx fastners on the car. Console needs a 20 and a 30. I think this is the transmission drain plug Jonathan mentioned. Jeff
  3. Guess I got lucky? Just curious, are you out of warranty because it is older than 4 years and because you have more than 50k miles. I know the service advisor at my dealer as I hang around there all the time. He told me it was warranty work when I took the car in but when I picked up the car and paid for the other work I was charged for the air bag. Then I went back to the advisor and he said it was a mistake and took the air bag charge off my bill. I was 3 years out of warranty but only had 37k miles. Maybe I was lucky, or maybe because I had a prior fix, or he made a mistake in telling me there was no charge when I bought the car in. Next time I'm at the dealer I will ask what is the policy. It does not cost anything to try another dealer. Jeff
  4. This is how I do it to remove the wheels. Even on a Boxster the door works just fine while the car is in the air. Then, my Boxster friend wanted me to replace fuel filter on his car. I jacked up the drivers side high so I could slide under the middle of the car. Wish I had a picture as I thought if I jacked it up more it would roll. Jeff
  5. I see 100 and 300 ohms in Loren's drawing. So it should work with a resistor. It is on my list of thing to ask Peter, since he is the one who told me you can do it with a resistor. Time for the details. Jeff
  6. This is like looking for a needle in a haystack, and pet is very little help. Try #23 on the same page. Have no idea what is is other than a contact bush, which is an electrical terminal. My parts dept loves me when I order a 20 cent terminal just to see what it is. Here is my $2 worth of terminals. I will look at the next fuse box we take out to see what this terminal looks like. Jeff
  7. I guess the question is is the racing harness DOT approved. I did not think there were any but a quick search shows a Schroth Ralley-4 four point harness as being DOT approved. It uses the oem anchor points and is only made for a few cars. I have always been told you need to jump the wires to the seat belt with a correct resistor to make the car think it is still there so you do not get the light. Not what you are looking for but there is a company that sells a switch to disable any air bags you want. Jeff Switch
  8. PCM and non PCM are different. The top pic is non PCM and the bottom is PCM. Non PCM has a cross bar. PCM does not as the unit is so large. If you do not have PCM then do not buy one for PCM. Jeff
  9. There is a lever inside each headlight. Read the post on the UK board about your MOT. UK Boxstirs
  10. On the video it is 11 minutes. The owner tells us what is going to be done, disconnect the battery, and a lot of verbal instructions. Henry sent me these screen shots of the video.
  11. The coolant was made by Elf, a large euro chemical company. ChevronTexaco formed a joint venture with Elf to make coolant under the Arteco name. I contacted ChevronTexaco last year and they contacted Arteco and gave me names of 2 coolants you can buy at any parts place. Jeff Babblers
  12. Not sure what you are looking for. A picture would help. Jeff
  13. My friend Henry did it on his litronics and then did it on Raman's lits. You need a hot soldering iron and a steady hand. We put foil around the plastic bulb opening. Foil is not the best thing since it can transfer heat, but I could not think of anything better. I named the procedure "amberectomy." Jeff
  14. Jay, sounds like you have the wrench sold by Porsche made by Mann. I had that one for years and did not like it because it needs a 27mm socket to turn it - the one on the right in pic. I then bought a Hazet wrench and it has a square hole for a 3/8" extension. Jeff
  15. Those are pictures of me working on Bruce's car 2 years ago. Here are some brief instructions I posted in 2001. Instructions Disconnect the negative battery cable first so the air bag light does not go on when you disconnect the air bag. Make a match-mark on the shaft that corresponds to the square hole on the wheel which you will see once the air bag is off. The square hole on your new wheel lines up to that mark on the shaft. When you put the wheel back on the 2 plastic prongs must be going into the 2 square holes in the wheel as you slide the wheel back on or you will break the prongs. In this picture of a 3 spoke you can see 2 black match-marks I made before the wheel was removed. Jeff
  16. You should have been at Henry's house. We had some room left on the trip computer retrofit DVD so we video taped a 4/3 spoke steering wheel swap. It takes a long time to type the instructions. I have posted them before on other boards - I just have to remember where and when and see if I can find a link. Perhaps Loren already has something. This pic is from when I did my swap a few years ago. Jeff
  17. You pull off the carpeted trim panel and there will be a black unused connector with 4 wires. There is a ground, constant, and switched 12 volts. We use it for MP3s, V1s, and other things that need switched or constant power. Jeff
  18. After we put a B&M shift in Colm's car he let us Boxster people take it for a spin. If sounds great. Jeff
  19. For more questions Henry will have to respond. Jeff
  20. Us Boxster owners are too poor to buy GT2/Turbo wiring diagrams. What is it you want to do and do you need a constant 12 volts or switched? And, why can't you use the cell phone connector since it has constant and switched 12 volts. Jeff
  21. I have a 1997 Boxster which went out of warranty in 1999. It had one of the first 'fixes' done while in warranty. I bought the car in 1999 after the original 2 year warranty expired Last year the light came back on. I was going to buy the kit and follow the TSB for the latest fix, or remove the bulb. Then I asked the service guy if Porsche would do it for free since it is a known problem, and he said yes. Had it done on my car for free 3 years out of warranty. Check with your dealer first as they did mine for free. This is Peter doing the latest 'fix' on a 1998. Jeff
  22. With enought money you can do anything to a car. This guy started the project by buying the individual parts but gave up because of the cost. Dave's site Jonathan Turner did do the retrofit on his Boxster. I have asked him in the past to put together some instructions..... Jeff
  23. None from me. The carpet is formed to fit the car. Did see a set on ebay but it was Boxster Red. Try a wrecker and see if they have your color. I have dyed carpet on other cars but it did no hold up. Jeff
  24. I am not the electrical guy, but I think you need the red top starter battery. If anyone in the San Jose area wants to put one in let us know. Jeff
