  2. It looks soo complicated... It's easier to obtain a green card than import a car.
  3. Hi there! I'm planning to move with my wife to San Jose next year, I would like to bring my 2000 996 C4 with us, do you think it's possible to drive it with my Italian license plates and insurance for at least one year?

  10. Update: I had my torque converter changed with a new ZF original part, the IMS bearing update (just in case), new RMS. I had to pull down the motor and the tranny to do that and some other general maintenance No more issue at all, it's like to have a new car! No more noise! Total labor and parts costs: 4.000 € (5.200 $)

  13. Hehehe I had this issue with my old 3.2 carrera, I had to start the engine for two times before use the car, I never solved the problem, Renntech was not here 15 years ago!
  14. You could have a problem on the aircon clutch, an easy task is to clean it by taking apart the pulley assembly or just wash it by the exterior. I had this same issue on my ML55 leaking oil from steering pump over the aircon clutch but in this case the clutch was not engaging at all!!
  15. I easily removed the brakets from my C4 without lowering the motor.
  16. Anyway they should be identical, 986 for 986 and 996 for 996...
  17. Hi Richard I have a problem with my M534 alarm unit under the seat, I opened a post some time ago about this http://www.renntech....037#entry213037 After so many tests I ended up thinking that the problem is inside the alarm unit, do you know how can I fix it? I know that I can't just swap my unit with another because it has to be coded...
  18. I made the mistake with going with OE Porsche Rotors and Pads on the fronts which I probably wont go anymore. The rear I ended up going with a set of Sebro rotors and PBR front pads. Was going to go with Balo but they didnt have it in stock. I did the same, Sebro rotors and Lexar pads, I had all the set front and rear included handbrakes shoes and sensors for 600€
  19. I had an issue like this when my oil refill tube was cracked and some wather was going inside it when I washed the car, are you talking in Celsius or Fahrenheit degree? Anyway just try to change your oil, maybe it has been contaminated by water before by the bad AOS...
