  1. Hey guys - Need some help with a sound my 911 is making. When you start it up and drive it makes a "ding, ding" sound. Sounds like the seat belt alarm.. but it does 3 consecutive dings.. while this does 2. There aren't any warning lights on.. have checked the doors, trunk, and hood to make sure they are closed.... Have no idea what's going on. Any suggestions or help? Thanks!
  2. Thanks Loren, That makes sense now. I was thinking it was the opposite way around. If i splice the two wires together will it complete the circuit ? Or do I need to connect them somewhere else individually? Thanks for your help.
  3. Hey guys. I need some help with my brake wear light. My brake wear light has been on and I knew the brakes needed to be changed. I finally got around to changing them this weekend, all four wheels. I chose not to replace the brake wear sensors. I removed the sensors and then cut them back by using wire cutters to clip them above the location of both inserts that came out of each side of the pad. I wrapped each of the two wires on each side in electrical tape and used a twist tie to tie them back from the brake system. I did this on all four wheels. When finished.... the brake wear light is still on and nothing i seem to do turns it off. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. I even looked to see if i could find the fuse that controlled it but it doesnt appear to be one that controls just it. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hey guys, I'm trying to replace part of the interior trim in the 911 i just picked up. The silver inserts on the door storage compartments have been scratched to hell. I got them off and the it says 996.555.611.01 but Porsche says thats not a valid part number. Anyone replaced these before? Need some help with finding this...
  5. Hey guys. Found this site using a google search and looks to be a great site! I just picked up a 2001 Porsche 911 in Miami on Saturday and drove it back to Charlotte NC. I have owned 4 Corvettes and didn't think I would be able to find a car that lived up to the standards the vettes had set. I must say though.. that i am loving the Porsche. The one issue the car does have is the left muffler is making a horrible noise. I had it checked out at a local muffler shop today and they said the inside of the muffler was busted. They couldn't order a replacement as they said they didn't have any universal mufflers that would fit. I called Porsche and wasn't too happy with the $500 price tag for the muffler. I did some research and found some universal mufflers and or flowmasters that were around $100 a piece. It says they will fit my model 911 but the pictures of them look nothing like the stock muffler. They all have an inlet and outlet on opposing ends and from what i can tell the stock is nothing like that... . anyone had this issue before? Will a universal muffler with a different inlet and outlet etc, work ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
