  1. Well...... i do have the moisture around and above the cap, but the loss of coolant was so dramatic that i couldnt believe it comes from there. but since i refilled my tank 3 days ago , the loss been at about 1/10 of a tank per day. I think i will end up buying a new tank and a new cap. Take all apart , see what needs to be changed....and worst case return the tank if its not needed.
  2. yes, when oil feel cap the is off the noise is gone.
  3. can some one link to a coolant tank R&R
  4. Ok, so after checking and checking and giving gas and listening it seems as tho the noise is coming from the throttle body. Did any one ever hear a squeaking noise from the throttle area?? update my mechanic told me it is coming from the crank case. its a vacuum in the crank case or some gibarish like that (this is what he did to test it ... he removed the dip stick an the oil cap , noise went away! put back the dip stick and put back the oil cap and the noise came back)
  5. I lifted the top engine cover. and now it seems as tho the noice is coming from seems to be either AOS area or water pump area. Also when AC is on the noise becomes lauder. This is a pain in the but, But i did notice my AOS gasket to be tightened wrongly and fixed that so slowly its getting there! :) The noise seem to come from the throttle body. new topic made! Thanks guys.
  6. ok, so my cap ends with 01 , good news i guess. but the leak is still there. although never as bad as it was the one time it went empty in a matter of 2 hours with a big puddle on the ground im getting really lost here with this.
  7. I thought of that as well but the noise is not coming from the pulley area. its more of mid right engine area. I do have a leaking coolant tank or maybe it is something else now .... it started as a leak from the tank so i thought but now i see all these posts about leaking coolant and a noise and im starting to think "water pump" but there is no pulley noise.
  8. Hello Guys. I have a 2000 boxster 2.7 57k on it. I did the polyrib belt due to a belt noise i suspected to be the polyrib and the fact that 60k is coming So i did the polyrib but the noise is still there It is kind of a squeaky noise coming from the rear passenger side ( not even close to the polyrib). when i press the gas the noise goes away , but the moment i lift my leg of the paddle the noise comes back but it is not constant.....only after i drive the car for a while it becomes constant. when i shut of the car , the noise is still there for about a 1/4 second. What could this be??
  9. This is a very helpful link! Thank you.
  10. Looking for a shop in chicago to service my box. Thanks
  11. So i cleaned the coolant and refilled the tank. i was sure it was going to leak again, but since then (2 days ago) nothing leaked. im a bit confused. i thought i had a cracked tank, but its not leaking , what else could this be? ive driven the car for about an hour to make sure i get it to running temp and pressure but still no leak.
  12. i found the post and did what was said. sure enough i found my car looking just like in the picture , coolant all over the bottom right of the trunk and a slight dripping. i filled it up and now i need to replace it. Thank you
  13. I noticed today for the first time a puddle under the rear bumper of coolant. It is leaking while the car is shut off. It dripps from the right area of the bumper. any idea what it could be??
  14. Thanks guys. I will post the updates on this
  15. i've posted here before here is an image witht the issue i am having. notice the gas gauge and he temp gauge are at below zero, yet the car has been driven at that point for 20 min.....the right side gauges def dont work. also , i bought the car used .... does the cluster come blue stock , or was it modified?? if so , maybe that what caused the gauge issue second issue happened first today.... the car doesnt start at times, and will only start after i jiggle the shifter knob and when i put the shifter in part it will not click and will blink the R until i lift my foot of the brakes and the park locks. what do you all think??
  16. I just bought this vehicle so i have no previous history on it. The carfax report came clean with no known major work done on it. I assumed right away that the instrument cluster is faulty due to the fact the both gauges that are located in the same cluster area are not working. Its just a scary thought to take this car on the road with out an engine temp indicator.
  17. Hello Guys, I wonder if this ever happened to anyone or if such thing is a common issue in these babies. My gas level shows empty at all times even tho the tank is full - and the E light flashes and my temp gauge shows below 100 at all times note that the speed gauge works fine as well as the RPM gauge the digital showing of the speed is working well yet the temp is always at -----f I wonder what it has to do with, either the cluster or possibly some other issue i cant think of and what would be the solution to such issue? Thank you.
