  1. Confirmed by Pfaff Porsche in Toronto that the leak is casued by RMS which was fixed last year and leaked again 3 days right after being fixed by Downtown Porsche in Toronto and they've checked it again and claimed the leak was from the residual 2 months afte the fix. I think they are full of crap and thats why I didn't go back to them this time. Pfaff Porsche offers far better service compared to Downtown Porsche in terms of professionalism and competence and this repair of course is under the 2 yrs warranty. I will continue to monitor the situation and keep you all posted and hopefully, it is good news from now on. Steven
  2. Just took the car out yesterday and guess what, it is leaking again or i shall say, it never stop leaking or it was never fixed properly. I found a small pool of oil on the garage floor again. I called another Porsche dealer (not the same one who fixed my car from last year) and will drop her off sometime this week to replace my rear tires and check out this notorious problem. I hope this is all cover by the 2 years warranty. :(
  3. Fixed and no more GAP... I took out both of the inner sills, remove the door sills by fishing line, reapplied adhesive. Now is a perfect job. :clapping:
  4. Hope this help. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...1&hl=SSFLAI
  5. Thanks. I guess this is kinda late now since the sills are pretty "glued". I did pushed all the way in and i think the gap is approximately 1-2 mm and is not very noticeable and like I said, if i wasn't the one who installed them, i will never notice it.
  6. How do you remove / pull up the door seals and plastic housings ? will it create damages and/or unable to put them back ?
  7. I was going to wait till the weather warms up a bit but couldn't resist the temptation, so, I used a hair dryer to warm up the panel before putting it on, this way, I can at least enjoy by watching it once in a while :P The arrow is pointing at the gap and if I weren't the one who put it on, I will never notice the gap exist and I will assume thats the way it is.
  8. hello neighbour, your box is looking good.. same here. could not wait for nicer weather to come. same question though, where did you purchase them? thank u, t2-BxtrS There you go, neighbour. I bought both items from Suncoast Porsche. According to gristy, the gauge rings are out of stock now from Suncoast Porsche, you may check out Vertexauto at http://www.vertexauto.com/ShowItem/197886%...nt%20Rings.aspx http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant...986trimupgrades Steve
  9. I left the gap, indeed i didn't know the gap will exist. I bought both items from Suncoast if they don't have them in stock, i could be the one who bought the last set. You may check out the following link and they are going for the same price. http://www.vertexauto.com/ShowItem/197886%...nt%20Rings.aspx Steven
  10. Just installed gauge rings and door sills into my 02 Boxster. Loving it and can't wait winter is done to drive her again. Spring, please come ! Steven
  11. I also found this, is it worth it ? http://shop.db-carbon-interieur.de/epages/...3629&Page=9
  12. I am wondering has anyone purchased items from Vertexauto.com before and your experiences with them ? I am planning to purchase a pair of Carbon Fibre door sill and seems like the price listed is very reasonable. http://www.vertexauto.com/ShowItem/208547%...x#ItemNotes1Div
  13. danm, no excuse to fire it up to enjor the sound till April..... <_<
  14. Therefore, don't crank her up at all till spring ?
  15. Hello Don, You mentioned "NEVER just start an engine and run it for a few minutes every once in a while" but you also stated "Better to just let a car sit and do nothing, than just run it a few minutes once in a while", can you be more sepcific, it seems to be contradicting to each other. Steven
  16. Folks, I have been reading few threads regarding winter storage and there seems to be two different opinions as in whether you should turn your ignition on once in a while and some said don't turn the ignition on unless you plan to drive it for good 20 mins and up. Which one is true ? Steven
  17. Thank you for all the tips. I used Duralube to lubricate the locking stick and push the "ring" from the manual emergency opening system back and it is working again. Thank you. :renntech:
  18. Just realized tonight that the fuel tank door won't lock when all doors are locked. The locking "stick" that supposed to lock the fuel tank door did reponse when the doors are locked and/or unlocked when the remote is pressed but not extended long enought to lock the fuel tank door. How can I fix it ?
  19. Folks, I have just purchased a pair of Boxster Carbon Fribre Door Guard (used) at Ebay and they should be arrived in the next few days. I am wondering does any one has the installation instructions as in the how and the position that I should put it on my 02 Boxster. Don't think it has any ahesive on the sills since it is used, any suggestions ? Thanks. Steven
  20. Are you supposed to wax the surface again after you have wiped off the residuals by Scratch X ? I am afraid the new emblem won't stick if there is wax on the surface ?
  21. Hello, I am about to replace my emblem and I have a jug of Goo Gone, does anyone has an experience in using Goo Gone ? and does it damages the cr paint if i use it to remove the adhesive ? Steven http://www.googone.com/googone/product/c7f...108e6a30db.aspx
  22. Beside Sunset and Suncoast, where can I get a good price on these skirts ?
  23. Not sure if they have disassembled the tranny to inpect the leak. However, I will continue to monitor if leaking is continuing and if so, I will haunt them again since I have 2 yrs warranty on the RMS, Clutch and IMS repair. I will provide update in the next 3 to 4 weeks to report if leak persist.
  24. Most folks use 3M adhesive remover, a little dental floss and in rare cases a little heat from a hair dryer. Keep the heat away from the 3M adhesive remover! How about Goo Gone ? do you think i can use it to remove the adhesive without damaging the paint ?
