  1. I'll bring up FRAs and RKAT info and report back! I may need more info on the 02 adaptation tests! I'll also bring up cam timing on both banks and data log them from 1200-1700 I *should have looked at the FRAs and RKAT and didn't :( Thanks for the leads!! *Sometimes we just need a clear head to think this through :) Negative Ghost rider :) 58k mi. C4 convertable. Clean car.
  2. Update? Have you been back to the track? I'm assuming you ran the car at Miller?
  3. This one is driving my nuts.. Anyone with good solid suggestions on *why this car is only misfiring on 4-5-6 and only at 1500rpm? Coil packs replaced, spark plugs replaced, fuel volume good, 02's read consistent side to side, cam variation is only -1.25 and 1.15. Maf number look good compared to other 3.6 cars we've had in here. I have *another 996 on the way with the same problem, and I was called on Monday by another tech down the street from me with the EXACt same issue in yet ANOTHER car.. Nevermind the multiple misfires in a track car we noticed this past weekend at the POC Tribute to Lemans race!!! What's going on? Is it crappy CA. gas?? Help :)
  4. and.. I now have a P1530 to go with it :(
  5. 13.6 with everything on!! I will say there is ZERO drag on the alternator when I spin it by hand.
  6. yes, I have used the search.. I'm reading conflicting info on this code. It comes across the dash (06 BoxsterS) when I pull it up in PIWIS, it says implausible signal from alternator?? (or something similar) Lost signal. I have driven the car and data logged voltage (13.2-13.7) with all the lights on.. at night.. Thoughts?
  7. any updates on ANY of this?? :notworthy: FYI: The new 9A1 based turbo engine is a direct bolt up to the PDK trans (and 6 speed) used in the Boxsters/Cayman's. This is a tad more feasible :) Next is the new GT3 engine into a Cayman/Boxster :)
  8. "Otto" as he was known by many was an icon in Southern CA. Porsche circles. Well known for his driving ability and wrench work!! We have lost two "Greats" with a week of each other with Bruces passing :(
  9. None silent chain engines: I install the early dual row IMS. Silent chain early engine: I install the later large bearing IMS. This kit is really good for people who don't plan on cracking into their engines!!
  10. For the short period I knew him (15 years) he influenced me greatly. He will be missed. One of the true "good guy's" in our industry.
  11. 19mm 6 point socket fits the nut they used.. like he said..bench vise and have at it :) I've lliterally removed 100's while installing the WEVO semi solid mounts.
  12. I gues he didn't.. LOL NO repsonse.
  13. No it won't fit. It will only fit the 03-08 Boxster/Cayman engines. I custome make a solution for my customers, but have nothing readily available. Tell your shop to take a look at how the new 9A1 handles the AOS. This will give them a good idea on how to come up with a solution for your M96 based engine.
  14. All Turbo's since 2010 have the new 9A1 engine. The engine is FAR supperior to anything they have produced outside the 962 based 4cam Metzger engines. Based on what they have done with the AOS (it still has one) I'm doubting we will continue to see coking issues. They smartened up. The breather line from each head? It dumps back into the the oil filler neck... which means the AOS cannot fill up with oil and therefore does not allow oil vapor into the intake system like the M96/M97 engines. I'm very impressed, and VERY happy to be dealing with the new engines :)
  15. Vizor? Did you figure this out? The vario valve lift doesn't engage until 2800 RPM (give or take a 100 RPM)
