  1. wow all the way up to 7grand? that's not good First of all, I would check your fluid level first, hopefully its pretty low. dual clutch packs could be failing? NOPE u already said works fine with M mode. -When the motor vehicle is stationary, in neutral, both clutch packs are fully disengaged. When the driver has selected D for drive , the transmission's first gear is selected on the first shaft, and the clutch prepares to engage. At the same time, the second gear is also selected, but the clutch pack for 2nd gear remains fully disengaged. As it accelerates, the transmission's computer determines when the second gear (which is connected to the second clutch) should be fully utilized. Depending on the vehicle speed, and amount of power being requested by the driver (full throttle or part-throttle normal driving), the DSG then upshifts. During this sequence, the DSG disengages the first clutch while engaging the second clutch (all power from the engine is now going through the second shaft), thus completing the shift sequence. This sequence happens in 8 ms, and there is practically no power loss. The actual shift timings are determined by the DSGs Electronic Control Unit, or ECU, which commands a hydro-mechanical unit, and the two units combined are called a "mechatronics" unit. if tranny fluid level is OK then most likey it's the Tip transmission computer.
  2. U can get a brand new LUK part # 98611401201 for about $600, used one for about $250.00
  3. I would wait for a few more days, it might just disappear
  4. I'm wondering this humming noise is occuring at a certain RPM? I know this may sound dumb <_< sure ? it's not the e brake cable rubbing on the wheel?
  5. I bet u,that genius cup holder & the best bottom floored alarm module came from a same PORSCHE engineering team. LOL Yes, exactly, it's in the middle of the dash right above the radio and climate control... That sounds like what I have on my 02. A mechanical marval that can only hold a can of Red Bull. I don't usually drink anything when I drive, I use my car on the weekends, but there are times I would enjoy a can of soday or a cup of coffee and there is no way with what I have. ;)
  6. I meant for the tread depth? brand new are like 10/32" but when they get lower than 4~5/32" some tires can be very noisy. if it make a squealing sound, grinding humming noise usually... change sound as u turn...buzzing then definitely the wheel bearing. Grab the tire at the top and bottom and move the tire back and forth, if there is any play (looseness) the wheel bearing could be bad.
  7. If you hear the motor, then your motor is fine. usually supply line is disconnected, your nozzle can be clogged with wax build up, air pocket can clog your line,Is your reservoir tank cracked possibly.
  8. Then most likely , car had been idleing too long. It isn't too good for a 986 to be sit & idle too long! and also get a battery maintainer. the car was serviced on 40000km in Germany and now has 42000km it was really idling for 5 months before my brother bought it. and really he made 100-200 km after the official dealler checked it on piwi .the dealler just saw only a fault code that the battery was low due to the 5 months iddling.
  9. worn out tire noise should sound a little different , try to throw your spare tire? see what happens? If it was the bad wheel bearing - it will make a sqealing sound, grinding humming noise usually...it will change sound as u turn...buzzing Grab the tire at the top and bottom and move the tire back and forth, if there is any play (looseness) the wheel bearing could be bad.
  10. yes possibly or been sitting idleing too long.
  11. uhm miss fire in cylinder 1. do you hear anything from your exhaust? I'm' hoping this isn't another bad vario cam.
  12. IM WONDERING .whats the depth on your tires? have u measured it yet? if bearing was going out ,would make a humming noise rather than the buzz
  13. bigger and wider but for your rear calipers I think they might work-rear brake pads are same as 996 Boxster front pads: 986.351.939.xx Boxster S front pads: 996.351.939.xx Boxster and Boxster S rear pads: 996.352.939.xx
  14. where is your cup holder located Bill? If it's located in the middle, then not an option with PCM.

  16. sure but different tire diameter will throw your speedo off! something u might wanna think about
  17. Anytime man, yup that sounds about right. then u should only have -3/4 inch fender gap. thanks guys yes i was looking for side view pictures. i wish i measured mine before instalation, hey loren anyway i can tell if my car had the row mo30s before from vin number ?? fk ok just measured my car and the fender is 26 inches in the front and 26.25 inchs in the back ... so i think it is right .. it has been lowered. but what a differents on the ride specialy with new hardware after 130k miles, cant wait till track it, fk

  20. Anytime Man I'm a newby porsche owner, I just bought a 2001 boxster 2.7 a couple of months ago (I love it!). I'm approaching the 60k mark and need to get it serviced. I've also noticed a few other issues that I would like to get checked out. A thumping noise from the rear right side when I hit bumps, My alarm intermitently goes off, My front left brake squeeks, and cruising along around 30 mph it feels like I have a flat tire (but I dont). Those are the main things that I need a mechanic for and dealerships seems to charge alot. Thanks!
  21. One of the biggest reason I replaced my head unit, my 79 chevy work van gets better reception! Im sorry guys, but I just have to say it becker system simply sucks.
