  1. There should be 3 micro switches per door. outer/inner handle to drop it then latch switch to roll it back up. with the door panel removed it is very easy to determine,,, but this sounds very much like also having a loose regulator cable.
  2. odd sound with solenoid failure? who said that,,,LOL Yes armature drag, bendix failure can cause a high friction noise. Usually a faulty bendix will not even engage the tooth and notice I said USUALLY
  3. 90% of failures that I've seen in the past were caused by a faulty solenoid, so they usually stop running,,, click, click USUALLY the first indication of a faulty bendix is when you start the engine, the starter spins with no load (not engaging). Usually bendix spring or retainer washer on the end has broken. But who cares? just replace it w/ either new or rebuilt.
  4. perhaps the latch unit was fine after all? All it caused was loose cable tension? Sounds like your regulator cable is all mangled up inside the spool, ordering a new regulator would be the best bet. PST2 is hard to come by,,,, pay a visit to local AUTOZONE they should be able to reset it for u.
  5. I'm with Stefan,,, would check the lower arm bushing
  6. The electrical section of the armature that contacts the brushes sometimes wear out . Worn bearings, especially in the tailshaft. The heat generated in the starter by the engine and the exhaust pipes causes the armature to expand. If the bearings are worn then the armature drags (actually contacts) on the stator causing a short circuit and a high friction drag. I usually take it to my starter guy, charges me about $80
  7. Yes , I would take it to the dealer. probably its the driver side belt receptacle! resistor inside the buckle is a known issue
  8. I wouldn't use the modulator,,,the lowest sound quality added a single DIN DVD/DiVX motorized touch screen then the AMP was installed
  9. Once the speed limiter was removed from the dealer, a car wash guy was too happy to make his donuts,,, B)
  10. Hey Gus. I feel U, just love the radical tread pattern. I'm getting em from S.Korea 17's would cost U approximately $1500, if U can get your hands on,,, Hi Juniinc, Would love to try these.... From what I heard they are 'Extreme Performance Summer Tires' How did you get a hold of them? I tried the website you suggested and cant even read it :D ! I am assembling a track set on 17's and am wondering how much the Adrenalins would cost on 225/17/45 on the fronts and 255/17/40 on the rears. All the best, Gus
  11. The dome light in the car has three postions forward middle and back these switches are a known issue. Has the car ever had a water leak from the rear window or top area. If so the alarm(lock) control unit is under the drivers seat and they get water damaged very often as well and it controls the light funtions.
  12. CHECK: power steering fluid, brake fluid, coolant hoses, body drains for debris! SHOULD'VE BEEN CHANGED oil, pollen, air, fuel filter spark plug
  13. secured by 2 nuts on the inside of the door. U will need to pull back the black plastic piece to loosen those 2 nuts then it should pull right out.
  14. for most of us it's the love U have for your car. on a sunny weekend, haning out in the organized garage, drinkin a couple of Heine, classic jam is playing, pretty girl friend being nosy cuz she is also curious,,, is there anything better in the world? HAHA
  15. was there any major 60.000miles service done?
  16. most likely the light switch assembly but why not remove the switch housing, meter those wires to be certain,,,
  17. another cylinder liner failure? There should be a factory recall for all 99/00 models since they sleeved it
  18. air plane wing on a 986? vividracing.com $4999.00
