  1. P142C what a great speaker! substantial difference just these speakers alone will make, U'd be very surprised. factory tweeters? garbage of course,,, I got 3 pairs tweets in they are all Cliff Design titanium dome.
  2. Yes even with a pair of high quality RCA cable, ground interface can be caused. My problem was when I tie wrapped all the wires (using the best quality Phoenix Gold RCA) from the head unit, make sure to seperate the RCA cable,no cable looping, best way to eliminate the G loop is throwing a ground loop isolator, I see the diagram U've posted,,, my cables were atually routed on the side U prefer( but no idea if its opposite on LHD car)
  3. the engine should be broken in properly with 50K. Yes I would feel much safer than driving a low mile 986. My suggestion is keep her in the garage! will avoid many well known issues - door, window, alarm, latch,,,
  4. Rockford Fosgate 4"s were installed
  5. faulty alarm contact on a door lock micro switch could be the problem possibly, I've seen a few cases in the past,,,
  6. If your fuse checked out to be good, It's probably the Flasher Relay Support Cockpit. relay support 1 position 3 #1HO.953.227
  7. I would replace the 15AMP fuse on the alarm module. I think a lot of the failures stem from the cars sitting too long without being driven. Seals dry out, which causes leaks or bearings to dry out and freeze up, etc. Have you checked your other fuses aside from the one in the alarm box? Yes sir.. Fuses: C-3 is good as well as B-6 and B-8.. all good. It has been a slow death. The history: 1st the key fob battery went bad, replaced battery after a week or so.. but would not work, lights up on the fob but nothing from the car. Then the passenger door lock would not function, then both. Now the triple on off with the key in the door does not work. Next the interior lights went along with the window switches not working. The top activates the windows and the windows drop to open the door.. now I have a double horn warning that the alarm has a malfunction with a manual key in the door lock. Everything under the seat was dry and pristine. I purchased (stupidly for 900.00 the correct PSM1 and navigation unit with supposedly wiring harnesses). I removed the radio, and hooked up the PSM1 but it was dead. (figures.. ebay theifs) I removed this unit, reinserted the original radio, got a code from Loren and everythng worked, including the window switches. Saturday they stopped. Today I pulled the seat and alarm box.. everything looked good. I am at a loss of where to go from here other than the dealer.
  8. If u got a sub , u definately need a X-over. My fosgate 8" is crossed at 110HZ,,, Alpine 9886 should be equpped with a built in sub output+can also push those PNP rears. I recommend any 2ohm stable bi channel amp out there(6ch hifonics, phenix gold,Punch,JL) with multi built in X-over.
  9. uhm front trunk doesn't come on meaning U got a bad latch(blown bulb?). try to get those 2 bolts loosen a little bit?, lubricate with some sort of liquid oil. if U kept jerking in the fender well, I'm also thinking perhaps there is too much slack on the cable?
  10. Nope I don't think so. might have to get an aftermarket amp.
  11. Tah My suggestion would be ordering a new H7 HID kit that will sit properly. I've installed plenty of these but not sure if the factory nissan ballast is gonna be compatible with those after market bulbs?
  12. with a faulty ignition both high+low beam shouln't be working. I'm thinking it's the light switch.
  13. Car should still run good, just a bit lack of performance. it is safe to drive the car no towing needed. Yes it is your back 1 cam sensor, definately the electronic problem,,,, What that code tells me is that bank 1 cam sensor is open. Soundsl like your sensor wiring hardness is unplugged. Its not a usual short to the ground or B+, I don't think Good Luck!
  14. Sounds like a great weekend project to me! Where in Orange county? imma be there next few days,,,
  15. 986 being a roadster, this is a well known issue for us. When the seat wiring hradness is unplugged , it usually triggers the air bag light. I haven't seen anyone can repair the alarm module yet, if there is I would really like to know & used one is really rare to come by. ordering a new alarm module + new key to get programmed(unless u got a code for your old key, highly doubt it) is needed I believe.
  16. by using the secret fender well trick, cable isn't broken probably? Im thinking its the lever acting up,,, very easy T20 torx,5mm allen will be needed. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7067
  17. will need to remove 2 - T30 torx screws in back of steering wheel. spring unit just sits behind the wheel, once its removed Instructions by D2 Performance http://www.whiteson.org/boxster/mods/obc/obc.stalk.pdf
  18. check the emergency brake cable , possibly could be rubbing.
  19. P1531 - Camshaft Adjustment, Bank 1
  20. I dunno if Loren is gonna erase this. for U azzaro, $29 LOL How much?
