  1. Hi Harry, No smog issues so you're good there... However since it's now so simple to flash and flash back to stock (that's free) before smog you can always be stock for a day. However the cars we did last year with the old soldering method pass anyway. The supercharger kits we do are different- smog is still an issue:(
  2. Yeps it's usually 4 hours for us and james is really trying to find a better replacement seal than the standard one which hardens/cracks over time etc...
  3. Heya folks, just a few things in terms of food for thought. Having flashed many 996s, 3.4Ls and 3.6Ls I do know that the difference in HP/TQ is less on the 3.6Ls but more noticeable (and a larger increase) on the 3.4Ls. You get about 24Hp out of the 3.4L. Exhaust won't give you anything really other than extra sound and an intake will give you about 8HP or so. The 3.6Ls don't really have much left in them in terms of headroom for tuning unfortunately:(
  4. you can always try the c4s lip which is cheaper and scrapes less...
  5. heya Carlos, we always use liquid wrench but it's more of an issue on turbo studs than NA parts.... If you can't wrench it off don't use too much force. Get a rubber mallet but hopefully they weren't over torqued. Oh and just use anti-sieze obviously:)
  6. You can also get a GT3 dip stick and use it on the TT. It has the provision for it but just doesn't come with the car for some reason... Smoke upon start up is pretty common... Could be piston rings seeping, couple be the turbos/bearing etc... You can pull off the hoses and look for oil...
  7. Sure, toss the seats and the roll bar in the GT3 and drive the GT3 over to Henry's. Then we all get to take it for a spin. We'll put Alex down for a definite maybe on the roll bar install. But he and Loren said they are a pain to install because the bolt holes do not line up all the time and you have to cut interior trim pieces. I think it would be easier if you lower the top and then we can drop the rool bar in in, or is that on a cab. I'll bring my sawsall and some carbide blades just in case we need to cut the roof off, and a BFH to get the bolt holes to line up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gonna try tomorrow. I'll be at work (at the shop) doing my clutch on my EVO (only time the lift's free) but after that I'll drop in. Seats are a doddle to do but that DAS Sport... ugh I'd let a pro like james@akkuratpgi.com do that one. Don't be discouraged, I mean it's a fine roll bar and in many ways much better than the Tequipment one but it's not easy to put in:(
  8. I'll try to make this one Jeff... Just found out that I'm going to have to flash about 5-6 996 with software upgrades at work first tho:( Be prepaired to cut up the interior carpet :censored:
  9. Which spoiler is that on your car? If you don't mind sharing how much for the part, painting, and where did you get it? Thanks, Alex <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi Alex sorry for the late response.. That was my old Roock wing. When I get into the shop tomorrow I can look up who makes it nowadays... I think it's either Cargraphic. You need a special tool to do the install but it only takes about 5minutes;)
  10. Yeps that's about spot on Loren. We've been doing so many PSS9s installs on 996/996TTs lately and it's around 1100 for the install, 4 wheel alignment and corner balance... I just wish PSS9s were cheaper:(
  11. Hi guys/gals, After having such a fun day at Thunderhill we were toying with having another track event before the year ends. As luck would have it, an opportunity came up to do it on a Weekend of all things! So we snapped it up again. I'm going to get to the point here and fast because we have limited spots open for August 22nd, which is a Sunday instead of a week day. I know the notice is short but Buttonwillow just off of the I-5 in central California is a fun/safe track (I like it even more than Thunderhill) and to be able do this on a Sunday is highly unusual due to a cancellation. As I said we're keeping this small in order to maximize on-track time and hence there aren't many open slots left. If you want to sign up just drop me a line to alex@akkuratpgi.com or just respond to this thread. I'd love to see some of the Norcal meets Socal since it's not far from LA (that means you Tyson!). Just FYI it takes about 2 hours 30 mins (slightly less than Thunderhill) from San Jose and about 1.5 hours from LA. Of course we can cover the track inspections and all of that... The cost is $185 per person. Payment can be done via Paypal to sales@akkuratpgi.com or with VISA/AMEX/Mastercard by calling in to 650-381-0000, Thanks and hurry while space is open.... 126 miles north of downtown Los Angeles 196 miles south of San Jose 28 miles northwest of Bakersfield 1/2 miles west of I-5 on Lerdo Highway 60 miles from Paso Robles "Wine Country" and gateway to central coast recreation
  12. Heya guys does anyone know the part numbers for the GT2 intercooler versus the 996 TT intercooler?
  13. Heya Kirby... I was gonna go too. Dammit car's in the da' shop. Not gonna bring my "other" car.. It's too shameful:P
  14. It's for the for the rear rubber joint between the tranny and the shaft. TIA!
  15. Where did you get Carbon fiber ones from if you don't mind me asking?
  16. Loren yer' a life saver. Guess which fool broke one dammit:( Doing an exhaust swap...
  17. Heya Loren, just wondering if you knew the part numbers for the studs and bolts and nuts that go into the exhaust side of the turbo. Aka hot-side to the cats? Also going to need to order a new gasket:( TIA...
  18. :clapping: Ah darn it'd woulda been so cool if you could have Bob. This stuff does happen regularily so another time;) I bet you'll get that 996TT done in no time and maybe still make it;)?
  19. Ok cool. I'll be there now that my car is back in action..... Trying to scratch my head. I wonder if Illene wants to get back in there lol...
  20. Nopes just that in-dash mode:(
  21. Thanks as usual Loren:) You da' man! Gonna keep trying this project...
  22. I finally thought I had all the parts to go ahead and do the conversion from a TT to a GT2 and low-and-behold it seems I'm still missing some parts Does anyone know or have the part number for the metal brackets that go on the left and right hand side of the center radiator. I'm talking about the two brackets that basically give the radiator its tilt and not the big pieces... Thanks! Only 5months now... If I can reach the 6month limit I'll celebrate by putting on my bumperettes on to the GT2 I'm missing the ducting behind the bumper on the left and right hand side radiators but I have those part numbers at least...

  24. Dammit Kirby there's too much MAN in those shots!
  25. It really does work a treat. It's nice to just have it all in one switch for those of you that need "two" functions etc... Kirby thanks ever so much again:P PS I spent some time with Mark Rein yesterday showing me the new Engine. OMFG.
