  1. P1502 is the code for a short circuit in the end stage fuel pump relay circuit. Check the relay, if it is OK, check the wiring from the DME to the fuel pump relay for a short to B+.

  3. Not really, I searched Amazon for automotive grommet sets and found several with multiple sizes included and picked one that looked like it would cover our needs.

  5. I’m not surprised that anyone would not honor any warranty after it has expired; that is why it has a date on it. Also not surprised about your comment on the EPS bearing, falls into the rules of small numbers.

  9. First of all, you should be running a 160F thermostat and not the 195 F factory unit. If you suspect the stat, pull it and get a low temp unit. You also need to know that the dash temp display in these cars are notoriously inaccurate as well as non linear. The best way to monitor the coolant temp is with a Porsche scan tool like the Durametric system.
  10. First of all, it is nearly impossible to get all of the coolant out of these cars; at best you are going to drain around 85% or so of the total capacity, so with a 5 gallon system, that is about 4 and 1/4 gallons. Second, with the Uview evacuated down to 25-28 inches of vacuum, there is no air trapped anywhere in the system, even if it is still partially full of coolant, period. It simply is not possible for any air to remain. Once one of these cars is refilled under vacuum, there is absolutely no need to open bleeder valves, jack the car up or anything else. That is the beauty of vacuum refilling. I seriously doubt there is a "blockage", and even if the thermostat was welded shut, there are still by pass coolant passages around it.
  11. There is no way to add coolant at the radiators. The factory evacuates the system with the Uview and draws the coolant in under vacuum, and the car holds around 5 gallons total.
  12. The PWM is triggered by a signal from the DME, which gets the coolant temp from the same senor that operates the dash gauge. As these dash displays are well known to be both non linear as well as flat out inaccurate, I would suggest reading the DME temp by connecting the car to a Porsche specific scan tool. The car may not be as hot as the dash makes you think it is.........
  13. It should lock into the very bottom of the canister housing; if it no longer does, you need to either buy a new canister, or switch the car over to a spin on style filter which is a much better option.
  14. Your radiator fans are controlled by what is call plus width modulation, which is built into the fan motor itself, and therefore rather difficult to modify.
  15. Sounds like it is the factory oil bypass unit that should be attached to the bottom of the filter canister.
  16. Here is your problem: Porsche coolant does not always play nice with some aftermarket formulation, resulting in a gelled cooling system which is a bear to clean out. So, if you don't know what is in it, or how old it is, just use distilled water until you can drain and flush out the system. Then you can use just about any product meant for alloy engines.

  18. Personally, I'd like to hear why the engine needed the front oil seal replaced twice, and why it needed new cams. Very low probability repairs that rarely occur, and they both occurred on this engine. Strange...………..
  19. Welcome to RennTech You've got something wrong in the slave install; pull it and reinstall it. If anything, and new slave should be very easy to depress.
  20. The fans are pulse width modulated type, which is built into the fan motor and not serviceable.
  21. Pull the oil filter, that will drain off around 1/2 quart/liter.

  23. If you think you damaged the trans, drain it and check the oil; it should be full of metal if you wacked something.
  24. Typical one piece flywheel noise; when you removed the dual mass flywheel, you also removed all harmonic dampening from the system.
