  1. That is a specialty hose for use with non removable barbed fittings.

  3. The car actually has several different "computers" that control different functions. The DME should not impact brake light functions, but the ABS/PSM unit might. The 991 618 145 is the electronic parking brake control unit.
  4. The engine needs to be lowered down enough to gain access, or just dropped out completely. As for how to use the tool, I would search for online DIY articles, or look for a copy of the factory service manual for the car.
  5. Yes, that is the seal and the cam tool set.
  6. Cam covers with metal plug tubes do have seals at their base, but changing them requires removing the cam cover, which requires both special tooling and some knowledge of the Porsche cam timing technology.
  7. You ONLY need to activate the ABS/PSM control network if you have gotten air in it, otherwise just pressure bleed as normal.
  8. What year is the car? Later cars do not have removable plug tubes.

  10. Run the cooling system pressure test; if it doesn't hold pressure, run cylinder by cylinder leak down tests to identify which hole(s) it is.
  11. The immobilizer system. You need to stop parts swapping and start basic diagnostics; start by checking the pedal switch wires to see if you have both power and ground. Then check the harness for continuity to the brake lights themselves, and the tail light grounds.
  12. Welcome to RennTech These engines use multi layer steel head gaskets that are actually stronger than the head or block castings; literally, they never fail. I would suggest having your cooling system pressure tested, you may have a failing or slipped cylinder liner.
  13. The clutch switch is for the cruise control system.

  16. Yes and no, cabrio is much bigger, so it would fit but very loosely.
  17. Some shops make their money with "add on's" like this. If you are using a quality full synthetic, you simply don't need additives.
  18. Check the switches on the brake peddle, one is for cruise, the other is for the lights.
  19. The dash display will always tell you the truth, unlike many shops.
  20. Welcome to RennTech These engines are actually happier running slightly below the full level. Add about 1/3 of a quart of oil, let the car sit for a bit and check it again. We generally fill customer cars to around 1/2 quart below full cold.
  21. Fogging oil is commonly used on long period stored engines to prevent rust and keeps the rings sticking to the pistons over time; cheap insurance. It will also free up stuck rings to prevent any damage to the cylinder liners when recommissioning engines that have been in storage.
  22. Welcome to RennTech Drain and replace all fluids (including gas), pull the plugs and spray the cylinder's with engine fogging oil, let the car sit overnight, then turn the engine over by had to free everything up. Once loose, put in fresh plugs and light it off, expecting it to smoke a bit at first.
