  1. Looks like the window have some play in the guide, you have to remove the door trim to inspect and pinpoint the problem.
  2. I bet the engine was a MY 05. If you want a 997 engine start at MY 06.
  3. A slight whistling sound with very low throttle indicates a faulty AOS.
  4. The last generation of RMS have no spring inside.
  5. 1) Porsche France Service apres vente/service technique. 2) Yes, PCM3 works that way, there are no longer update disks available. If your dealer makes a phone call to them he will receive instructions how to do if a solution for your problem exist.
  6. You need the PIWIS to work on KESSY system. A visit to the dealer is a solution.
  7. You could be right, i cant say, fog lights are forbidden in normal circumstances ( no fog ) it will cost you a ticket. The streets and roads are illuminated by night in Belgium, we use the head lights rather to being seen than to see themselves by night. A unique experience for foreigners.
  8. Let him call the Porsche importer technical service for the step by step procedure, it's save money and time for you both.
  9. GT3 clutch is not interchangeable with 996 Carrera's engines and gearboxes, complete different design, approx. the same as the Turbo system.
  10. Low beam, that's what PIWIS says in UK English, Viola.
  11. Good guess, White. That's exactly what i have heard.
  12. Check the oil level after a night standstill before starting, it's the most simple and easiest method.
  13. The nav. map is on the hard disc, the dealer have to place an order by the importer, he receive a code# and put it in the PIWIS which writhe the update on the hard disc. This is the actual procedure for PCM 3 update, perhaps you need something similar to change the US map to the Euro map.
  14. Check the washer tube connection behind the battery, sometimes the valve comes open, to start with. A second well know leak is the small tube on the water tank which come loose from the connection.
  15. Sure you got the right logo for the right engine cover?
  16. Cayenne : vertical adjusting screw = up/down horizontal adjusting screw = left/right
  17. There is a repair set available for the front interior light on Cayenne.
  18. As Loren mentioned, but rather 13 ( straight under the rear right window ) sometimes the manual is confusing. Remove the follow trims: rear part of the roof, chrome cover of the hatch lock, right part of the trunk bottom trim ( with the two chrome hooks ), right rear part ( small ) beside the chrome lock cover, trim with the belt upper part, you can pull now the main side trim a little to the middle. The control box socket is mounted with a screw to the car body ( under the control box, you cant see the screw ). Removal of the control box is needed to remove the connectors ( they are on the wrong side as usual ). Success.
  19. As long you will use the specific Porsche approved rim and tire size for the MY of the car, the speedo remains approx. the same and the end reduction of the gearbox as well.
  20. No you cant, PCM with DVD navi. can only play audio CD's in the PCM slide.
  21. Sport chrono + have two buttons, one with the shock icon= controls only PASM and one with sport inscription which overrules PASM button, throttle control via DME, brakes and a lot more.
  22. Alignment is needed, the triangular arm is camber and the most rear small one is toe in/out related.
  23. The factory mount is with plastic rivets, in the middle sits a pin, push them out with a small phillips screwdriver or something similar, the rivet will fall on the floor. Metal pop rivets are, as Loren suggest, a better ( stronger ) solution.
  24. A 55 W bulb remains 55 W, it's stamped on the rear of the metal flange. 125 W output looks commercial hype IMHO. I can obviously wrong.
