  1. Original engine = factory installed when the car was delivered new at the dealership. Have you read attentively the posts above, and elsewhere on the board ( i personally know it by experience), about the durability of the 997 Carrera MY05 engines? I think it is outrageous and hard to hear.
  2. You have already done the best precaution by activating an extended warranty on a 997 MY05, if the car have still the original engine IMHO. It sounds hard, but so true.
  3. The car looks perfect like he (she) is, simple and firm as a Carrera 997 should be, averse of surplus from all "pimp" attributes. Very beautiful car, congrats.
  4. Certainly not on the OEM options, perhaps third party shops have that. Is it not possible to approach the garage threshold by a angle instead of straight.
  5. 986/987/996/997 front and rear hood should be adjusted in a way that a slight pressure is needed to close the lids, 1/avoiding rattles 2/avoiding water infiltration 3/the lids have to jump up approx. 1cm after activation of the remote or inside opening buttons.
  6. A worn out window motor is rather unusual, the window regulator mechanism is mostly the culprit. Take a good look on that.
  7. Push the front hood connector into the rear hood switch (they are the same) and try again, if the actuator will work now, replace the front hood switch. I have no electric schematic in front of me but a full BROWN wire is always GROUND in a German car electric system.
  8. 996 TT engines are a lot noisier than Carrera M96/97 in that area, anyway i would visit the dealer and possible a second opinion to be sure.
  9. Fill the expansion tank till the "MAX" mark when cold and keep an eye on it during some days. Concerning your question regarding the cooling pipes of Cayenne MY06 and older, which were made of vulnerable plastic, and replaced by light alloy pipes as upgrade, MY08 (DFI) are again equipped with plastic cooling pipes admittedly a new design cause the different fuel lines of a DFI engine. It looks like the history will repeat after 100k Km. I hope not.
  10. If the problem concerns only a defective remote part, buy a blank and change the blank metal part with the original one from your old defective remote. Only a reprogram of "ALL" the keys is needed in this case.
  11. Resonance is caused by a worn//out of balance fan, replacement is the best solution. "Porsche parts at dealers cost" button on top of the page can help you out.
  12. I have not the attention to give you more doubts, but under some conditions, low on fuel and the pump on full flow/ full throttle during a longer period of time, the pump will run too hot with temporary flow reduction as result. It's just a thought.
  13. Perhaps a forum member with a diagnostic tool in your area can help you out, complete your member profile with your location to make it easier.
  14. It should help if you post the fault codes which push you on the right direction, you can also use the SEARCH button for the more common airbag issues.
  15. Yes it is possible, reprogram and system log off is needed.
  16. Take a look in the fuse box for a blown fuse and disconnect the battery (reset) for a couple of minutes and try again. If you have no result, a diagnostic tool can guide you the way to go.
  17. After reading your post it looks pretty clear that the issue is related to the Pioneer installation, i would take a look in this area first, disconnect the Pioneer if necessary.
  18. No, the actuator is the solenoid. I was not sure what you meant, different names for the same part. Check fuses, wiring's and connections first in this case.
  19. Probably is the aftermarket spoiler made of inferior material with regard to resonance of the fan or too much stress on the fan suspension points. Rubber vibration absorbers/spacers present?
  20. Just push with sense til the first resistance you can feel, and hold the button till the desired window height is reached.
  21. Remove the engine cover (just pull off, no screws) and take a look on the right rear side of the engine, there is a kind of AOS and a bunch of pressure and vacuum valves in the area. Try to hear of the noise comes from that area, it's sounds like if you loosen the oil filler cap, the noise will go away or changed in frequency (fluctuating vacuum in the engine ventilation system)

  25. Cigarette lighters in all Porsche's should be switched independent key or door lock positions, in other words with the key in your pocket and the doors locked.
