  1. Take a look at the same time for the engine room purge fan, in the engine room, visible in the right side air duct behind the passenger door. The fan comes on only when the engine room (environment) temperature is high.
  2. Do what wvicary suggest, let check the car for fault codes, without the codes it's a guess.
  3. Please use the SEARCH button "Drivers door inside handle" works as a charm.
  4. The approved oil is Mobil1 0W-40, the used viscosity, especially in hot conditions (30) is too light. However a small puff of blue smoke at cold start up is not uncommon. I would change the oil with the approved one to start with.
  5. Check for water traces: hoses on top of the engine (OAS), water channel cover on front of the engine, cylinder head gasket.
  6. Lack on refrigerand perhaps, let the system check for leaks etc.
  7. Possible internal compressor damage caused metal flakes in to the system, without cleaning and a new receiver/dryer the new compressor can be damaged again in a short period of time.
  8. A.T. (AusTousch) means Factory Rebuild. The engine is already replaced.
  9. Sounds more like a bearing failure or some play inside the compressor than a defective clutch, i would replace the compressor + receiver/dryer and cleaning the entire AC system as well. A visit to a specialised AC workshop is recommended for a confirmation.
  10. Read out the fault codes with a diagnostic tool (PIWIS or similar), the best and cheapest way to go IMHO.
  11. Looks like the entered code is wrong, after 3 incorrect attempts the unit is in safety mode for a certain time. Stop your efforts until you have the right code (see CDR manual).
  12. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=16385 Check this out, it can help, i presume.
  13. As wvicary mentioned, it could be many things, anyway i should start with a throttle body cleaning, a bottle of fuel treatment in the gas tank and a check under the air filter element. It can happen, when replacing the filter, some debris like a leaf gets in the filter housing and disturb the air flow to the MAF.
  14. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?a...ost&id=9824 Item # 8 in the exploded view is a well known source of clunking noise, without any visible sign of wear.
  15. The HAZARD switch is next option.
  16. A test drive says more than thousand words, the transmission is part of a total concept, if you feel good with a Tip. do it, if you don't, walk away. The maintenance is not that much different in mileage, a bit more expensive than a manual transmission cause the filter, gasket and the maintenance labor. Performance figures are rather boy's talk (bar) IMHO.
  17. Yes, Cayenne S and Turbo shares the same air filter.
  18. Erase the codes and take a look if they come back after a test drive, it has something to do with the temp. sensor or wiring.
  19. The red flashing light indicates an error (not engine related), be sure there are codes in the memory, no doubt about that.
  20. I should avoid 997 MY 05 for various mechanical and electronic reasons, MY 06 have a much better engine (up dated design intermediate shaft+bearing, RMS seal) and most of the control boxes are up dated as well (different part #).
  21. This car is brand new, let a OPC solve this problem for free, don't screw it up.
  22. Let check the fault codes first (ASAP), sounds like a transmission or electric servo motor problem, rather than low fluid.
  23. ROW cars have mini relays, look if 404 is a double relay, a wiring diagram should help a lot because the owner's manual is only intended as a kind of first aid and not for more significant problems.
  24. I thought MY 05 brake switch is integrated in the ABS/pump unit, unfortunately i have no wiring diagram available to check it out.
  25. If you remove the trim under the glove box, you will find the drain near the fire wall.
